success: The Secret of All Sales Efforts Revealed! - 10/27/07 01:06 AM
I admit, one should never blog in anger.  That's why I've invoked my traditional 24-hour rule started years ago with the "send button" to allow cooler heads to prevail and to avoid that seasick feeling that overtakes you moments after hitting it on a message you realize you're probably going to regret [immensely].  But really folks, there are just things that rookie professionals and obnoxious sales people do that drive me nuts:  and I should know because over the years, I've screwed up and done them too!  Don't fall victim to being "this guy" or "that gal" when you are the selling entity or the person that needs … (3 comments)

The older I get the more I rely on my daily habits-- the little rituals of life I do each day and each week to maintain rhythm and a sense of order in my otherwise chaotic life.  I do them because they work for me.  They help me be what I want to be and those habits I've had in the past that didn't were habits I had to be willing to toss out of my life for good as soon as I realized they were holding me back.
Every weekday morning I stumble out of bed and make the coffee.  My bride has become accustomed to it so if I don't she'll be disappointed-- and that doesn't work … (24 comments)

There are only three kinds of objections.  Period.  I challenge you to find me an objection that doesn't fit one of the three types we're about to discuss.  Virtually anything your clients say to vocalize an objection can be identified as one type or the other-- and because they can, a strategy can be developed for you to handle these more often.  Will you always overcome them?  No.  But if you overcome them more often by recognizing them and having a strategy prepared, you'll win more business and be more successful.
What are the three types?  SPECIFIC DISLIKES,  MISCONCEPTIONS, and DOUBTS.  Everything else is either a stall … (38 comments)
