Martin County Market Report, This is the third report on Martin County this has seems to deja vu there are minor changes more so in the Sold information.
Martin County is part of Southeast Florida. There are many advantages to living in Martin County. We are very close to many thing but we don't pay the high price of living in the middle of the big Cities. We are located 2 hours and 15 minutes from Orlando (aka Disney World) this is do-able day trip for a family looking to get away. If you follow my other Market Report blogs you already know you don't have to leave your front yard to see the Shuttle launch. When you are ready to get up close to the Shuttles, Cape Canaveral is only an hour and a half from Martin County. This is another excellent day trip which helps with the budget, no hotel needed. Now for you grown ups looking for night life we have nice local hang outs with quality food and drinks. If you feel like getting dressed up "to be seen" the Palm Beaches are a short car ride away. Then there are the nights you would like to be with the "IN Crowd" then Miami is only an hour and half from here and then you come home and get back to regular life.
Watch for the Shuttle it's to Launch in April...

March means spring in Jensen Beach. Not that I ever closed my windows this winter but March brings beautiful breezes. I planted my flower beds with vegetables this year, really my children made me plant vegetables. So now I am growing snap peas, cucumbers and basil next to the pineapple plants, opps almost forgot the sunflowers. (The pineapple should produce fruit sometime this year???) Of course my children picked the eatables that went into the garden so it's more of a fruit and vegetable garden... The first day of spring was great we did not get one flake of snow unlike my Mother who was on Long Island -- sorry Mom.
The Jensen Beach St. Patrick's Day Celebration & Parade was fun. Family and friends all put on their best green appreal and a smile which makes everyone Irish for the day.
Jensen Beach is located in sunny South Florida on the East Coast. We had the coldest days of the season in January but that only makes the oranges sweeter. We are just about 45 minutes north of West Palm Beach and on the southern county line of Saint Lucie.
Jensen Beach is a great example of Florida living at its best. It has great beaches, lots of sun and you can see the Shuttle launch from your front yard. Speaking of Shuttles we have one Launching on March 11th. Night Launches are Beautiful just look a north and a little east from your front yard and you will see it!!!

Spring Marches into Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island Florida. March has the first day of spring and that day was beautiful and breezie. I had all the windows open and let Florida come inside. (unlike my Mother who was on Long Island NY we had NO SNOW sorry Mom) Mid-March was Jensen Beach St. Patrick's Day Celebration & Parade in down town. That day it did not matter if you were not Irish we all wore green.

Jensen Beach and Hutchinson Island are located in Sunny South Florida. We're the Treasure Coast. The natural beaches and turtle watching are very popular and we are only 45 minutes north of West Palm Beach. This area is know for its mild winter and the breezes off the ocean keeps us cooler in the summer.

As you are aware the shuttle fleet is going to be retired soon, sometime in the up coming year (?) The news says we will have several years to wait for the next space craft to come out. With this line of space craft coming to it's time for retirement, NASA has definitely had some of the prettiest launches in years.
I have lived in Florida since I was 6 years old, move here in 1978. Those doing the math 31 year resident, yes 37 and proud. I have been in Martin County growing up watching shuttles going up, then later in the life of the Shuttle program hearing and feeling them land. I've seen the good launches and unfortunately the bad. I have done all this watching from my front yard, walking between class at school and even from the beach but I have never seen it from the launch area. You know, honestly I don't really want to go there to watch. It would be great but there is nothing better then to know that every Shuttle I have seen I have seen from the comfort of my home town.
The latest launch on March 16th was the most elementally beautiful I have ever seen. At first it appeared to look much like all others I have seen (with exception of one and I always say a pray as it rises into to my sight) This one was different in the way the sun's last rays of the day hit the trail of puffy white cloud like path the shuttle laid behind it. Nature took over and painted it with a vibrant display of oranges, reds and pinks...and then just as the shuttle put distance between itself and it's now spectacular trail the sky became darker so you could just see it as a point of light just the size of a star , in the night sky, then you could see 2 slightly smaller points of lights separate and start to fall away. My family and I could no longer see the shuttle itself, so I returned to putting dinner on the table and then I stepped back outside to gather up my children and then looked a the sky to see the remnants of the trail and it was as white and bright as a cloud could get on a navy black sky and all I could think is that nature and man should work together more often to create beauty like that....
Falling in Love with Jensen Beach - Hutchinson Island in February is fantastic. The beach breeze is amazing. All you do is open the windows and let the outside in.

Fall in Love with Jensen Beach in February. Getting to Know Jensen Beach at the end of Winter. It is still cool out and you don't run your AC at all in this month. All you need to do is open your windows and let the breeze blow in to your home.
