The Sap is running in Ontario - 02/28/12 07:54 AM
The Maple trees, obviously affected by the unusually warm winter we have experienced this year have started to run...  The tapping of Maple trees in Ontario started last week, earlier than the usual mid-march. 1,000,000 litres of maple syrup will be produced in Ontario this year, and you will start to hear about local festivities soon. If you haven't experienced the tapping of Maple trees and the production of Maple syrup, perhaps you can take advantage of the mild weather this year and join in the fun at a local festival in Ontario. Yokohama's new green tire is ORANGE! - 02/23/12 06:48 AM
YOKOHAMA's new GREEN tire is ORANGE!!! Yokohama has just introduced the World's first mass-produced tire using Orange Oil technology. Infusing the natural and synthetic rubbers with orange oil, which is extracted from orange peels, Yokohama says the resultant tire attains longer tread life, better road handling and better fuel consumption.  Apparently Orange Oil extends the life and wear of the rubber allowing Yokohama to offer unlimited mileage warranties for four years (for V-rated tires), five years (for H-rated tires), or six years (for T-rated tires). Better fuel consumption is achieved through the reduction of friction (which reduces rolling resistance). This technology … (19 comments)

Let me begin this by saying that I get the feeling that "Prayer" seems to be out of the limelight and in the shadows at the present time.  It seems to me, that for the last generation or two, our governments and the media has taken huge steps to keep faith out of the mainstream. I remember my father telling me that sometimes people tend to forget God in the "good times", and fall back on God during trials and times of despair.  My personal faith has not always been steady.  There have been ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys. I … (9 comments)

Wiarton Willie does not see his shadow! Wiarton is in the midst of celebrating the 56th annual prognostication by it's own famous Wiarton Willie. The Albino groundhog did not see his shadow on this cloudy and overcast day, foreshadowing an early spring. If you want to partake in the celebration, it continues in Wiarton until Feb 5th. The genesis of this tradition was in Germany as conquering Roman legions brought the tradition of Candlemas to the land.  Germans decided to transfer the tradition to hedgehogs.  If a Hedgehog saw it's shadow, winter would be at least six weeks longer, if a … (8 comments)
