The Town of New Tecumseth was created in January 1991 and encompasses the former municipalities of the Town of Alliston, Villages of Beeton and Tottenham, and Tecumseth Township.
Tecumseth Township
The name Tecumseth came from a famous Shawnee Indian Chief called Tecumseh who fought and died for the British cause in 1813. A derivation of his name, Tecumseth, was given to the township on April 14, 1821 when the bill was passed in the Ontario Legislature establishing the names of the Townships that would make up Simcoe County.

Here are some tips on keeping the flu and other viruses from spreading!
Reduce the risk of spreading infection:
Cover you mouth and nose when you sneeze, using a disposable tissue or the inside of your elbow. Eat well and get enough exercise and sleep. Treat all blood and other body fluids as infectious materials. Wash your hands frequently and thoroughly

Beeton is a Beautiful Village of approximately 6000 people in the town of New Tecumseth. Known for its Spring Honey Festival and its Fall Fair, the Village of Beeton still maintains the sense of community that thrives in the small towns of rural Ontario.
What I loved, when I first visited Beeton were the large trees, lovely in all seasons, but especially in Fall, when you will see vibrant reds, oranges and yellows.
Come for a visit or decide to stay for a lifetime, you won't forget this lovely town =)

Queen Street in Tottenham will be the place to be at 10 am on Saturday December 5 for this years Christmas Parade.
Tottenham is a village in the Town of New Tecumseth, located in Southern South Simcoe, approximately 3 miles north of Highway 9 between Highway 27 and Highway 50.

We will pause for a moment at the 11 hour of the 11th day to remember the debt we owe to all veteran for the sacrifices they made for our freedom. Perhaps we can spare some time to honour the Canadians presently making sacrifices for us.
There is a Canadian Forces Base to the north of New Tecumseth in Angus, Ontario, Camp Borden. We often see soldiers on excercises and in our stores.
