El Take It Easy, North Park, San Diego, CA

 

Let me just begin by saying, I love food.  Food is a huge part of my life.  When I was younger it's what brought my family together.  That's why I love spending so much time in restaurants with my friends and enjoying a good mean.

 

A couple weeks ago my friends and I decided to check out El Take it Easy.  I don't know why I hadn't been there before, I  mean I'm at Core Power Yoga all the time and it's right next door.

 

Upon arrival, I wasn't so sure this place was going to be a big hit. I mean after all, you expect a big crowd on Friday at 7:30.  There wasn't.  Although, being optimistic as we are, we gladly took our seat at a very cozy table chosen by our waitress.

 

Our drink orders came.  Don't ask me what I had but I put a picture of it here.  It's some sort of sweet lemony flavored almost martini ish drink.  Anyway, I highly recommend it.  My meal consisted of three different tacos, one pork belly, one shark and a lamb. May I say you couldn't go wrong with either one.  All three were super fantastic and each had a distinct flavor.  We even went so far as to eat cricket powder.  That's right, cricket powder.  Don't ask me to really describe it but it's got the flavor of chili powder slash basil slash I don't know what else.  It wasn't as unusual as you think.

 

 

My friends each got a variety of tacos and drinks... everyone was completely satisfied.

 

I highly recommend El Take it Easy.  I'm definitely going back.
