Only 10 homes closed escrow in the Dayton Valley in January 2010, compared to 12 sales in January 2009. January historically is a slow month for home sales, so this is not altogether surprising, and certainly nothing to be alarmed over. Most escrows take 45 days to close and that means home buyers would need to be out shopping for homes in December. Instead, people were enjoying their Winter Holidays.

Yesterday I met a very nice couple in the Riverboat section of Dayton, Nevada. They are preparing to do a short sale on their family home.
When the Lyon County Assessor and builder established an address for the property in 2002, the address was determined to be 782 Monico Drive, however that is not accurate. The property is a corner, and apparently, the house was planned to be built facing Monico Drive. Instead it was built facing Gordon Lane.
