South Florida lead home insurance rates in the State of Florida. The average rate for a home in Florida is about $2500 compared to almost $4500 in Broward County alone. They say that if we go one more year without a storm that will go far to help lower or slow the increase in the insurance rates.
Right now companies do not want to sell home owners insurance in Florida and those that do want to recoup some of their loses from the last two years of storms.

I think with interest rates going up they may well be on the rise. For buyers though there are no bargans. I think that those people who bought ARM;s adjustable rate mortgages, may find that the interest rates are moving up. The good news is that if they still have good credit they can refinance and get a good rate on a 30 year fixed rate.
