apartments: A Tenant you can refuse...(or not) - 07/06/07 04:53 PM
This morning I got an email from a landlord who is curious about what or how he can refuse a prospective tenant.

"Hi I read your blog and you have good info on there.   Keep it up.  I have become a new landlord, some apartments are already rented with leases and two are not.  I have posted my own ads and I got alot of replies but some of them I am not to comfortable with renting to.  Can I deny a tenant a[n] apartment?"
Well in short, yes.

All the real estate agents here talk about buying and selling.  Are there any agents out there that is active in apartment rentals?  Like I have said many times before, I am in Queens, NY and the rental market here is strong.  Actually too strong.   The landlords think that they have the LAST apartment around and that they are going to be super choosey.  (and I mean super choosey - is that they have a three bedroom apartment and they want a working couple ONLY).  There are some great benefits to being a rental agent.  I actually start out all my agents … (3 comments)
