blogging: How A Blog Can Benefit You.. - 10/19/07 07:38 PM
October 16, 2007 was a great day at the MLS Tech Fair, it was a SOLD out event that I feel gave Realtors alot of useful information.  Our Panel spoke about "How a Blog can Benefit You".  Sitting with me on the panel was Linda Davis, Dan Green and the so famous Rudy and Joe - the blog tour boys.  Our panel was suppose to run for an hour but the audience was so receptive, we ran into overtime and then some.  The audience really were into learning about blogging.   I actually over heard a few women in the hallway saying how overwhelmed … (3 comments)

blogging: Soap operas on-line. - 05/17/07 08:48 AM
I hope that all the new bloggers that are entering into the web world will make a mental note of what I feel is sound advice.  I also hope that all the veterans who are out there will take into consideration the correct way to use a blog.
Relating news about you.Relating news about your area.Relating sound advice about buying, selling, renting, investing, etc.Announcing great new ideas, new developments, new homes for sale, etc.Self-promoting. (don't be appalled, MY main objective is to promote ME and if yours isn't then you should stop blogging).  Now some of even the more brilliant bloggers … (10 comments)

blogging: My afternoon with Brad Inman.. - 04/19/07 04:07 PM
Well Pinch me!  About a week ago Brad Inman called me, (OMG) and asked if I was going to be available to meet with him today (let's just say that if I was not available - I was going to make myself available).
Let me start from the beginning.  You see my broker and I have this tiff about how to use a blog.  I say it should be used to talk to the people, not at them.  Whereas - he talks at themand blogs about his listings only.  This surprises me because I think my broker is a smart guy.  He … (10 comments)

blogging: 7/29/2006 - Active Rain makes headway... - 03/19/07 11:21 PM
I was playing on Youtube tonight and I stumbled onto an interview with Matt Heaton and Caleb from WAY WAY back in July which at this point Active Rain was at that time only with 2,000 members.
The interview is seven minutes long, but it is a great video of back in the day and why Active Rain was created.  The thought was to connect the Realtors with the Realtors in a way that we can connect with each other.  As time has passed, we have all noticed that the Active Rain platform has been taken to a much higher level.

blogging: Survival of the wittiest - 03/16/07 01:20 AM
"Most Bloggers blog for about three months and then they abandon their blogs".
(right about now, I am praying that I did the link correctly).  If not here is the link to YouTube - Blogging Evolution.
I know that there are times that I have not one thing to say.  Well, maybe I actually can't say that I don't have anything to say, I just question on if what I have to say will matter.
I know that I love Real Estate and I have grown to love blogging.  I find that not only is it a great way to advertise, but … (35 comments)

blogging: You and I - we have ROCKED the world. - 01/15/07 09:18 AM
"Social networking is lifting real estate and in the next 12 months it's going to overwhelm real estate. It's been happening since Craig's List started but it's only now coming to a head." Brad Inman
This morning my feedreader has just been spewing out all the goods.  I want to highlight an article from CNN.Money entitled "Tech Trends Rock the Real Estate World" The article talks about  blogging and how social networking does not mean online chatting but more like online sharing of information.  You and I share our information and that value is transported to the consumer.    I mean I think most … (7 comments)

blogging: My Realization....... - 01/10/07 12:55 PM
I attended the Inman Connect yesterday.  While, I normally love going to seminars to network, I did not find that this one was within my "league".  I found that the Inman Connect were for tech guys trying to promote their software, their ideas and trying to sell.  Which is great - that is what these vendor based seminars are for.  But, what I found was that I am just a lowly Realtor.  I LOVE Real Estate.  I love to sell, I love to buy.  I love to work with buyers and I really love to work with sellers.  I get a … (8 comments)

blogging: Joseph G. Ferrara and Rudolph D. Bachraty III, The Founders of Sellsius° - 10/20/06 08:58 AM

I had the pleasure of  "interviewing" the gentlemen and founders of SellsiusRealEstate.    There are alot of blogs that I read daily but there is one that continiously steps outside of the box.  They are responsible for the Top Ten Female Bloggers (which by the way was an honor), the 101 Blogging Challenge and inventing the word "UnZillowable".  I suspect that there will be more to come because they have alot of imagination between the two of them.
So... without further ado.. (Drum roll please...)

blogging: WARNING ***Not for the faint - - 10/10/06 08:49 PM

I was out blog hopping tonight and doing some updating - dancing around some blogs and I came across a regular blog that I read quite often.  There is a reason on why I am posting it here and not on my regular blog.  See - I do have two different blogs.  I don't know, maybe I am leading two lives?  Noooo.. I have one that is mainly real estate and one that is just my listings.  I also like posting here on active rain.  So maybe I have three blogs.  I treat each one differently - or I try to.  … (23 comments)

blogging: I know what I know, ya know - but I wish I knew that then.. - 10/02/06 02:03 PM
Things I wish that my Broker (or someone) would have told me!
Is there anyone out there that wished they could go back in time and change something, edit something, redo something or just tweak something?  Do you wish that what you know now - you knew then??
EDUCATION; I am not talking about just classroom continuing Ed.  I am talking about the real life, nitty gritty facts that you learn as you stumble upon your way.  Classroom education is good, but nothing beats hands on training.  I take the optional courses offered, even if they are not for credit, but … (7 comments)

blogging: Friends are great - BUT.... - 09/29/06 01:40 PM
I was reading "The Lovely Wife's - What would happen if RECIPROCITY paid a vist to active rain"  post .  I commented.  I agree with her.  I do see alot of the same people commenting on the "popular kids" blog. I see the people who have huge scores getting ratings and exsorbant amounts of points.  Like I said, I agree with The "Lovely Wife".
But -
There is almost always a but....

blogging: The "Sandwich" era - 09/26/06 08:53 AM
When a person makes the decision to sell their home they have a reason, perhaps a goal that they are trying to achieve.  I love working for people when its an upgrade.  The homeowners are excited and happy.  They anticipate the move and they are truely ready for the move.  Then there are times that I have to list a home that has a sad reason why they are selling, like loss of job, illness or worse death.  My emotions do tend to surface.  Most of the time these sellers are not quite ready to leave the home and there is such … (2 comments)

blogging: Why Do YOU blog? - 09/08/06 10:17 AM
The other day I was asked, "Why don't I post my homes for sale on my blog?"  This  was a good question.  I have to admit, I was sort of stumped.  I thought about it a lot this weekend, and I know I have read some articles on why NOT to post homes for sale on a real estate blog, I just had to do some searching.  I know WHY I don't post the homes that I am selling on my blog, for my own personal reasons number one.  But also because I like having a forum, or I should say … (14 comments)
