The fact of the matter is, mortgage rates are on the rise. For instance, the average rate on a 30-year loan has risen from about 5 percent to more than 5.3 percent in just the past week alone. Mortgages rates under 4 percent are still available, but only for loans that reset in five or seven years, most likely to a higher rate. What does this really mean? Simply put, a slightly improved economy and the end of government rate regulations is making mortgages more expensive.

April Market Update for Jacksonville, FL - 04/12/10 09:51 AM
For the month of March in Jacksonville there were 10,617 total active real estate listings in the city. There were 2,508 pending or “under contract” homes on the market. During the month 1,266 listings expired and a total of 1,162 homes were sold.
Of the homes that sold, the average list price was $189,000 at $87/SF and the average sales price was $178,000 at $82/SF.
