I've got to give a thumbs up to my fellow Rim High School Alumni Greg Steffens in Lake Arrowhead for posting this blog.  Even after living in the San Bernardino Mountains for 10 years during my childhood, I've never seen this beautiful daffodil garden in Running Springs.  Greg has let us know that this Spring is the last year the garden will be open to the public.  If you haven't made a point to seek this place out, this year is the time to do it.  I'm adding it to my list of things to do for the end of March or early April.   For those … (0 comments)

lake arrowhead: Seniors 55+ Grass Fire and Slide Fire Victims - 10/30/07 07:31 PM
I would like to extend sympathy to those affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California.  My family and I are all too familiar with the shock and devastation a fire can do to a neighborhood.  We were among those who were threatened by the Esperanza fire October of 2006 in Twin Pines.  We were one of the lucky ones that were able to come back to a home.  As the San Bernardino Mountain pulls together closely as a community, it will take some time for healing in the neighborhoods affected.   I am very fond of the Lake Arrowhead and Running … (1 comments)
