Northwoods League Foundation Celebrity Poker Tournament - 01/25/11 02:27 PM
The Northwoods League, a summer collegiant baseball league with teams in Minnesota, Wisconson, Iowa, Michigan and Thunder Bay, is having its 1st Celebrity Poker Tourament on Monday, Jan. 31st at Cantabury Card Club in Shakopee, MN.

(Fun Video) My Son Makes His Football Predictions For Today's Games - 01/23/11 10:43 AM
This is not Real Estate related, but I too still like to do a fun video once and a while. My son Chase, who is 7, makes his football predictions about todays NFC and AFC championship games. Minnesota Homes That FHA and DVA Won't Finance - 01/15/11 10:08 AM
Working with a lot a buyers in the Anoka, Sherburne, and Isanti counties in Minnesota I get calls on houses that are priced really low. The buyers think they have found the steal of the century. I ask questions about their financing and find out they are using an FHA or DVA loan. With these loan types the house needs to be in fairly good shape. These are typically foreclosure homes but could be homes that were not well maintained. Today's video will show you a house that does not work for this sort of financing because of the condition.

Locked Out of LinkedIn - 01/14/11 08:33 PM
For the past couple weeks I have not been able to access my LinkedIn Account.  I tried to enter a password and it would not let me in.  I changed my password and it would not let me in. Now it just pretends I am a new person and wants me to sign up.  I emailed LinkedIn's customer service and they gave me instructions to try to see if I could get in and said this sort of thing is common with LinkedIn.

The first couple weeks of the New Year has proven to be a busy one for a lot of agents in this area.  Today I am going to write about the Elk River Housing Market.   Coming into the year there were several good homes that were clean enough and in good enough shape under $120,000 that just were sitting on the market.  Now in the first couple weeks about 10 of the 20 homes in this price range are under contract and a few of the other ones are entertaining offers!

Today I previewed some homes for an investor buyer in Cambridge, MN and right now there are some real good homes for close to $100,000 that would work for buyers looking in this range and wanting a move in ready home.  Some of the homes need paint, carpet cleaning or some appliances. This is pretty normal for the foreclosure and short sale homes in the area.

If you have not noticed or heard on January 1st, 2011 RE/MAX Associates Plus inc merged with RE/MAX Results here in the Twin Cities of Minnesota.  So I am now with RE/MAX Results.  To the consumer RE/MAX is what they hear and assume we are all the same, but there are differences.
RE/MAX Results has a different Broker/Owner and I am LOVING IT because they offer more tools in technology and more continuing education opportunities.  The past few years Ihave been an agent who likes to do my continuing education online if possible, but this year that will change.

There are a lot of bank owned homes out there.  Buyers sometimes rule out a home because it needs too much work.  However, I thought this post was a good reminder that the 203k loan option could help you make that "rough around the edges" home a wonderful home!  There are good deals out there. Look into this loan!
