The Minnesota Twins play in the week American League Central Division! Thus at 5 games below .500 they are only 5 games out of first place behind the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers. The Twins play 8 games next week against those two teams! Its time to trim that 5 game lead even some more! Minnesota is hot right now and we are all jumping on the bandwagon!

In late May I had wrote the Minnesota Twins off as having a lost season. To start this month they were 20 games under .500 and 16.5 games out of first place. After tonight they will have won 15 of 17 games and climbed to within 6.5 games of first place.
Even though they got two of their starters back in the last week they still have 4 others on the DL and missing from their lineup. The starting pitching has been amazing and the bullpen has been much better. The AAA Twins have started to hit better as well.

The Minnesota Twins fans and players had high hopes this year for the team. Coming off back to back division titles and playing there 2nd year in Target Field, the goal was to get out of the first round of the playoffs.
However, an 8 game losing streak and a league worst 12-26 record has the Twins buried and those hopes and dreams for 2011 are almost dead. The team can't hit and rarely gets a good quality start. When they do the horrible bullpen blows the game.

Beside perhaps Cleveland I think we can call Minnesota choke city when it comes to sports. I know Minnesota is not a city, but our pro sports teams are EPIC chokers. I went to another lose today for the Minnesota Twins vs the Yankees. This is the 11th straight post season lose versus the Yankees.
I know the Yankees are a good team, but they are not as good as last year. The Twins have home field advantage and can't manage to win one game at home. They had ZERO hits with runners in scoring position in two games.

I took a break from work yesterday afternoon and went to the Metrodome to see the tie breaker game between the Minnesota Twins and the Detroit Tigers. On the way to the game my brother called to let me know that he got a free upgrade to one of the suites and once I got in I could stop over. Traffic was horrible at that time of day. Tonight I actually took a little time to watch some sports. It took me until 8pm to get out of the office but then I stopped by a friends and we watch some of the Vikings game and a lot of the Twins game.
I follow the Twins daily by seeing their score, but don't actually watch many games. When football rolls around I normally don't miss many of the Vikings games.
The Twins have an awesome pitching staff and they are so young it is great to think about what they can be in the years to come. My only concern … (5 comments)

My brother and sister asked me to go to the Minnesota Twins game on Sunday and I was hesitant. I did not confirm a yes or no. Now a loan officer friend called and had free tickets in a great section...so I had to say yes! He only had two tickets. Hopefully my brother and sister can find seats close to that area. Otherwise they might take me off there Christmas list. Which would be bad because I like the Christmas gifts they give me.
