pride: March 31 - Proverbs Chapter 31 - 03/31/08 08:34 PM
Yesterdays post: March 30 - Proverbs Chapter 30 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 31:30-31 "Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Give her the reward she has earn, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." MY THOUGHTS: First off praise to the good wife's such that Proverbs 31 describes. Praise to the women who fear the Lord. You are a blessing to your family, friends, and marketplace! Know that the city gates in biblical times were where the marketplace people set up. So use the work that you do as a blessing to

Yesterday's post: March 29 - Proverbs Chapter 29 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 30:8-9 "Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. Otherwise, I may disown you and say, 'Who is the Lord?' Or I may become poor and steal and so dishonor the name of my God." MY THOUGHTS: I am against poverty and for wealth as it gives glory to God. Now some do disown God by working hard for the riches and putting the Lord on the back burner. I know that you can make God first place in your

View previous post: March 28 - Proverbs Chapter 28 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 29:1 "An evil man is snared by his own sin, but a righteous one can sing and be glad." MY THOUGHTS: I believe everyone on this website is a good person. Perhaps you have done evil in the past, but God forgets about the past when you turn to HIM. Become righteous, not by what you have done or not done, but by accepting Jesus as Lord of your life. Doing so will make you sing! You are forgiven through Christ! Read yesterdays post: March 27 - Proverbs Chapter 27 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 28:13 "He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." MY THOUGHTS:If you are struggling right now perhaps check yourself for not yet confessed sin. Maybe there is something that is blocking the prosperous flow to you. Remember to not only confess your sins, but to turn away and do them no more. Please click here to subscribe to my blog . See the sidebar on the right to subscribe by email. See the last post: March 26 - Proverbs Chapter 26 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 27:2 "Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips." MY THOUGHTS: There are a couple other verses that were speaking to me today, but I thought I would share this one. Remember how as Realtors we use to advertise about HOW GREAT WE ARE...maybe some still do. Maybe some of that is warranted. But look at this verse and think about it for business and personal relationships. Isn't better is someone else praises you? That makes me feel much better as compared to

View yesterdays post: March 25 - Proverbs Chapter 25 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 26:22 "The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to a man's inmost parts." MY THOUGHTS: There are a lot of gossips out there. Gossip causes damage to people. A gossip's words can sink deep inside to hurt both the person being talked about, and also the person doing the gossip. Next time you start gossip or next time you start to hear gossip from someone else, perhaps point out the harm it causes and make a decision not to participate in gossip. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you." MY THOUGHTS: I guess this goes with BLESS those who CURSE you. Surely I am guilty of doing the opposite. I would have really never have thought of doing this...in my old self I would want to get the someone back. Now I do let God fight my battles. I don't

Here is what I posted on Easter: March 23 - Proverbs Chapter 23 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 24 "If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!" MY THOUGHTS: Do you ever feel like this market is a TEST of your strength? I have had almost every deal lately have a delayed closing for one reason or another. Last month I read this verse and it really jumped out at me. I caused me to have GUT CHECK (more commonly heard on ESPN)... I needed a GUT CHECK. I decided a little adversity was not going to get me down. I decide its time to be

View yesterdays verse: March 21 - Proverbs Chapter 21 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 22:2 "Rich and poor have this in common: The Lord is Maker of them all." MY THOUGHTS: I think we forget this. God is the maker of the rich and poor. I will look at it this way - if the Lord made the Rich, then what prevents the poor from being rich... I was thinking about the fact that most churches don't empower the rich to share HOW they make their money with the poor, so the poor can become rich. The church seems to focus on giving just enough money to the poor to so they can

View yesterday's verse here: March 20 - Proverbs Chapter 20 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 21:6 "A fortune make by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare." MY THOUGHTS: I was thinking about all the LENDERS that have gone under or are about to go under. Did they have lying tongues? Did their greed cause what we have today in the market? I am not sure. I wanted to share this verse to see if anyone else had some thoughts on it. Please click here to subscribe to my blog . See the sidebar on the right to subscribe by email. View yesterday's post: March 19 - Proverbs Chapter 19 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 20:13 "Do not love sleep or you will grow poor; stay awake and you will have food to spare." MY THOUGHTS: This one jumped out at me because I don't sleep as much as I used to. In order for me to get the things I want done I had to change my sleep schedule fro 7-8 hours a night to 5-6 hours a night. It really does not effect me much. When I sleep I am out. I used to be more restless. I am not saying that this is what

View yesterdays post here: March 18 - Proverbs Chapter 18 ... PROVERBS - CHAPTER 19:21 "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." MY THOUGHTS: I have found this to be true. Although I must admit I had been battling the Lord on this in some respect. You know...running my self into the brick wall of trying to go with my plans over HIS purpose. I feel like I have given way or at least went with the PROVERBS 16:3 way. What about you? How have you found this to be true or not for you? Past Proverbs

View the previous blog in this series at here: March 17 - Proverbs Chapter 17 ... PROVERBS - CHAPTER 18:21 "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." MY THOUGHTS: Could your tongue have that much power? I can say first hand, "yes it does." A few years ago before I accepted Christ in my life I was pretty negative, and a lot of the things I said were negative...I got poor results. Once I started to grow in Christ I noticed that I needed to also started speaking differently...cleaning up perverse language, but even

FOR THE REST OF THE DAILY POSTS IN THIS SERIES GOTO: March 16 - Proverbs Chapter 16 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 17:14 "Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out." MY THOUGHTS: Do you know people who like to start a fight (quarrel)? Perhaps you do that with your spouse or they do that to you? I stay far from this now. I had one person that really got me going in the past. That same person likes to try to get me going now, but I stay away. This is another reason why I suggest the study of proverbs.

Happy Birthday Mom! Check out the previous post to the series: March - Proverbs Chapter 15 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 16:3 "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." MY THOUGHTS: First of we need to noticed that the Bible talks about us SUCCEEDING. There are a lot of people that live life like God wants us to be average, mediocre and to barely get by. NOT TRUE! God wants us to succeed. How do you succeed? Very simply I have learned. COMMIT YOUR PLANS TO THE LORD! I was struggling in late 2007 in Real Estate. I read this and

To see the previous post in this series click here: March - Proverbs Chapter 14 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 15:22 "Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." MY THOUGHTS: I come up with a lot of ideas on my own and sometimes I like to run with them. However, I continue to learn that with MANY ADVISERS you create a better idea and plan. Doing so leads to success. I am not saying you can't run your own race. I have learned that its much more effective to have more people on your team. Different ideas and experience can help

See the previous post in this series here: March - Proverbs Chapter 13 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 14:30 "A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones." MY THOUGHTS: I can say I have peace in my heart. That doesn't mean everything in the world view is going great for me, but I know I have peace. I am doing the best I can I am growing and learning and helping others. This gives me peace. God's word gives me peace. I wonder why I rarely get sick. I feel stronger today then ever before. Could it be that I have peace in my heart? I notice

Reminder this will be a daily post ...I am just catching up tonight - previous post: March - Proverbs Chapter 12 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 13:24 "He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him." MY THOUGHTS: You mean the Bible teaches us that we are supposed to discipline our kids? I share this because its another area I need to improve. My kids are 4 and 6 and for the most part well behaved but there is some times when they just need the ROD. ---Now I don't actually use the ROD, but I really feel like I should

Click here for my previous post: March - Proverbs Chapter 11 PROVERBS - CHAPTER 12:14 "From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things as surely as the work of his hands rewards him." MY THOUGHTS:Isn't it true that we not only need to think and speak positively, but then we also have to go take action and do the work to reap the rewards. Some people say you must think positive and things will be better. Other say speak positive words (affirmations) and then you will have success. (I do both by the way...think positive and speak positive

View the previous post in this series if you missed it: March - Proverbs Chapter 10 PROVERBS CHAPTER 11:2 "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom." MY THOUGHTS: Does anyone else struggle with pride and humility? I catch myself here every so often. I have to remind myself that its the Lord you works through me which causes me to triumph...its not because anything I have done on my own. - God has been really using me lately. Not because I am so special, but because I am willing. I need this scripture to remind me that its not
