When I first started as a real estate agent in 1983 in California, most all my work was done within a 30 mile radius. Times have changed, thanks to the internet and the increase in real estate investing as a common way of building wealth.
Nowadays, as an agent, I keep up with several different markets around the world for my clients. People are just as likely to buy in Costa Rica or list their condo for sale in Mexico at the same time. They may find they want to buy an apartment house in Texas or a new tract home as a rental in North Carolina. People want to know where the hot markets are, and it's my job to keep up and inform. That means that many times, instead of pushing my home town of Ashland, Oregon, I might be referring them to my friend in St. George, Utah who is building a brand new tract of well-priced homes that are a real bargain.
I need to know Property Managers, Commercial Lenders, 1031 Exchange companies and agents I trust throughout the world.
As a result, being an agent has almost a global feel to it, which I find very exciting, as I meet more and more new agent friends around the world.
Be sure to call me if you need to find a good agent in another state; I probably know one.
Warm Regards,
