first time home buyers tax credit: Don't Even Bother to Ask-The Answer will be NO! - 04/26/10 09:18 PM

The clock is ticking.  It can be heard loud and clear throughout Northern Virginia.  The tax credit is expiring in four days.  However there are those who might consider cheating and signing a contract on May 1st or May 2nd and back dating it to April 30th.
Please don’t go there.  Though the tax credit is a great opportunity for first time buyers and repeat buyers, the IRS has already been slammed with cases of fraud surrounding the tax credit.   If your contract even has a faint whiff of fraud associated with it the tax credit will be the least … (23 comments)

first time home buyers tax credit: The Cost of the First Time Homebuyers Credit-Time to Pull the Plug - 10/16/09 04:24 PM

As deadline for the first time homebuyers tax credit looms the debate as to whether to continue the credit or not is getting heated.

first time home buyers tax credit: Prince William County First Time Home Buyer Scores a Ten! - 08/28/09 04:52 PM
Matt scored a 10 when he managed to become the owner of this REGULAR sale condo in Prince William County.  In a market that seems to be heavy on short sales and foreclosures it was easy to know that this condo wasn't going to last long.  With an Virginia Housing Development Authority (VHDA) FHA Tax Credit Loan he managed to move in with no money down.   This weekend he is spending time at Ikea only a few blocks away filling up his first home.Handing over the keys at settlment is a great feeling.

If you are first time homebuyer in … (4 comments)

Today another one of my first time homebuyers settled on his new home in Prince William County (VA).  It is always terrific working with first time buyers and when they are able to take advantage of the Virginia Housing Development Authority Tax Credit Plus loan program it is even better,The VHDA Tax Credit Plus program offers first time homebuyers the option of using the $8000 credit towards their down payment.  Set up as a second mortgage the program allows a buyer to pay off the second mortgage with a delayed repayment of up to 1 year at NO INTEREST!   For most … (3 comments)
