The gears and wheels inside Chapman/Beverly Mill in Prince William County Virginia kept this historical mill working starting in 1724. The mills was an important part of the growth of the Shenandoah Valley. It is spring cleaning time. Not only for our own homes but for the shoreline of the local Northern Virginia rivers and creeks. This weekend's clean up along the Occoquan River produced a few bags of trash and a nice selection of tires as well. Unfortunately no gold dubloons were discovered turning this clean up from Trash to Treasure.

Though it is not as grand as Mount Vernon Estate a few miles down the road, Rippon Lodge has a beautiful vantage point across Neabsco Creek and played a significant role in Virginia history. This week I spoke with a seller who had spent over $3000 to a company to help with their loan modification. It failed and now they are looking to list their home as short sale. The money they used for the loan modification company is on their credit cards. This will end up costing them much more than just the $3000 they've already paid out.
