social media in real estate: If You Aren't Social Then Stop Taking Up Space On Social Networks - 01/30/13 08:50 AM
Okay that's not exactly what Bob Stewart said during the "Find Your Social Media Sweet Spot" teleconference's but it's true.
How many Facebook or Twitter feeds do you see that are nothing more than a stream of links back to blogs posts or listings?  There is no interaction between the person posting and their friends or followers.
Perhaps it's become easy to just hit the like and share buttons at the top of Active Rain and send information about to a variety of social media sites without thinking about what happens when it gets there.  However if your friends and followers aren't … (29 comments)

social media in real estate: Why I'll Miss The Redfin Scouting Report - 10/08/11 01:16 PM
Okay Okay perhaps that is a stretch.  I was among those who notified Redfin they had a major error in the reporting statistics for my sales.  Do I think a national database of information on real estate agents is a reliable way for a consumer to determine who to hire to help buy or sell a home?   No, there are more variables to finding the right agent than just a pile of numbers.  In fact some agents numbers are so staggering you wonder when the sleep.

At some point the one hand waving approach to social media leads friends and followers to click the UN button.  What UN button?  The un-follow and un-friend one.  And that is only for the folks you know are following you.  There … (67 comments)

social media in real estate: Life is Full of Adjustments-Learning From the Family Cats - 10/24/10 09:39 AM
All of us make adjustments in our life.  Whether it is personal or professional, planned or unplanned if we don't learn how to roll with the punches it could be overwhelming.  This past week I came to the realization that my 13 year old cat Jasper was deaf.  Now if you have ever been owned by a cat you know that ignoring you is often high on their list of things to do.  However Jasper has always been a people cat.  Greeting everyone at the door and as soon as you called his name he gave you the happy tail straight … (13 comments)
