There aren't to many words that can convey the emotions looking at this view of Arlington National Cemetery after the placing of 85,000 wreaths on the grave sites of those who have served our country.

It was 8 AM on a cold winter day in DC. Yet thousands of volunteers descended on Arlington National Cemetery to participate in the 20th annual Wreaths Across America Project. This year there were 85,000 wreaths to be placed in Arlington and thanks to the growing support of the project every VA cemetery in the US will have wreaths placed on grave sites as well.

Those words are the mission of the Wreaths Across America Project for 2011. This year on December 10, 2011 along with hundreds of volunteers, I will again be placing wreaths on the graves of serviceman in Arlington Cemetery.

I generally don't reblog right after a post but Gerry's post is timely. This weekend is the annual wreath laying at Arlington National Cemetery. Come rain, shine or freezing whether I will be participating again along with hundreds of other volunteers.Arlington Cemetery is just one of hundreds of cemeteries around the country where volunteers will be out remembering not only our loved ones but other men & women who have served. Yesterday on a cold Virginia morning thousands of volunteers from across the country arrived in one spot to honor our fallen heros.
