realtors: What is really going on in our lifes as real estate agents - 08/29/10 11:24 AM

So, here it is my second post after a long week in real estate. Well, all but 2 of my deals got pushed to next week. All were over lending issues. Now, that no one knows really what to do because it is still changing from day to day most underwriters etc have been told to leave common sense at home. It is simply amazing to me how is stead of the government and the banks which personally in my humble opinion are one in the same. I just love getting up and sipping on my favorite cup of coffee grabthe laptop and walk out to my back patio and just start planning my week. I live in Keller TX just outside of Fort Worth surrounded by Southlake, Roanoke, North Richland Hills, Grapevine. Just between DFW airport and the Alliance Corridor. I got the great pleasure to see Neil deGrasse Tyson speak last night at the Arlington Campus of UTA (for non Texans that is University of Texas at Arlington). For those who do not know who he is shame on you. He is one of the most popular Astrophysicists of our time. He is not only a brilliant speaker but an amazing person that helps enlighten the people that prefer to stand in the dark. I went there thinking he would talk about outer space, but instead was tossed into what and how we live today here in America … (2 comments)

realtors: Women's Council of Realtors, State of Texas Winter Meeting with TAR - 02/17/09 08:53 AM

I am getting so excited about this event. It has turned my business and thoughts of what being a Texas Realtor is all about.
Women's Council of Realtors has been a career enhancement.
If you have never attended one of these evnts you are really missing out!
Other than your travel expenses and a few selected events the meetings are free to you! Education is so very important especially these days.
If you are not in the KNOW you will be in an UNknown.

realtors: New Home builders Cream rises to the Top. - 01/21/09 09:11 PM

In the mist of all the negative press on CEO's there are still uplifting stories that keeps hope alive.
David Weekley, the founder and CEO of David Weekly Homes, Inc. generously gave to all his employees nationwide a PERSONAL check of up to a maximum of $1000 depending on years of service. His letter sent with the check stated that not only did he appreciate the hard work during a trying time but that he and his family felt very fortunate and wanted to share with his David Weekley family. realtors: DR Horton Marketing and what He thinks about Realtors I was shocked! - 07/18/08 10:49 AM

The comment from Head of Marketing for DRH also makes it sound like Realtors can be lead like cattle, that Realtors can't think for themselves! Either that, or I am an AWESOME trainer of Realtors! I find their response unbelievable considering that Realtors sell 80% of DRH homes nationwide.
I, think anyone that is suppose to be a marketer to Realtors and represents such a company would allow that attitude.
If that is how you feel we as Realtors will stop bringing you clients to your communities.
