This week I took on the responsibility of assisting in mentoring a new agent in our office. Before getting her license she worked as a receptionist in a local real estate office that has a reputation for being difficult to work with. Most agents in this office have a very territorial approach to real estate. They look at other agents as encroaching on their territory. They can only see what might be lost in playing nice with these agents, not what there is to gain.
What do you gain in playing well with others?
A professional reputation for being easy to work with. Having a good reputation gives you a professional advantage over your competition. Other professionals will want to work with you. Floresville ISD Needs to Rename New Floresville North Campus--Calaveras Campus--Floresville, TX 78114
The 2010 school year will welcome a new elementary school to the Floresville area. This event is highly anticipated and necessary for the growth and development of the Floresville community.
Construction is nearing completion, and the Floresville North campus is looking great, the only change I would like to see is in the name. The new school is in an older area 'historically' known as 'Calaveras' and the school should reflect this in its name.
Calavares was originally established in the early 1860's as 'Wright, TX', originally in part of Bexar county. In 1869 a boundary change placed Calaveras in Northern Wilson county. In 1885 the name was changed to 'Calaveras' with the granting of a post office.
The Floresville ISD should research the area history and rename the Floresville Elementary North Campus the Calaveras Campus to preserve the history of this area.

If The Saints Go To The Super Bowl I Will Be There!! Never Say Never!
I have been 'Happily' married to the most wonderful man for 13 years. The secret to our marriage has been that we are very 'like minded' on most subjects. The one area we disagree is on who we follow in sports. I tease my husband that he is a 'fair weather fan'. He follows the Dallas Cowboys, and theTampa Bay Buccanears (just to annoy me). He tends to be more of a fan for the team that is playing better, this year that's Dallas. I am and have always been a 'die hard New Orleans Saints fan. I have endured YEARS of great starts, and disappointing finishes, but have never faultered in my devotion.
Several years ago my husband promised me that if my 'Aints' as he calls them ever made it to the Super Bowl he would take me. At the time he stated that this would not happen in my lifetime, so he had nothing to worry about. I upped the stakes and told him that he would have to wear a Saints jersey and paint a flore de lis on his face. He agreed, thinking this was one promise that he would never have to honor.
Well it's now 2009, and half way through the season my beloved Saints are undefeated. They look strong to make it to the play-offs. My husband is getting a little nervous.
Never say never. Murphy's law has a way of coming back to bite you.

A cowboy rode into town and stopped at a saloon for a drink. When he finished his drink, he found his horse had been stolen. He went back into the bar, handily flipped his gun into the air, caught it above his head without even looking and fired a shot into the ceiling. "Which one of you yella bellies stole my horse?!?!?" he yelled with surprising forcefulness. No one answered. "Alright, I'm gonna have another beer, and if my horse ain't back outside by the time I finish, I'm gonna do what I dun in Texas! And I don't like to have to do what I dun in Texas!"
Some of the locals shifted restlessly. The man, true to his word, had another beer, walked outside, and his horse has been returned to the post. He saddled up and started to ride out of town.
The bartender wandered out of the bar and asked, "Say partner, before you go... what happened in Texas?"
The cowboy turned back and said, "I had to walk home."

Wisdom! Have A Little You Can Spare? Today's Words Of Wisdom.
Proverbs 4:6-7 Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
Wisdom is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting.
Do you share the wisdom you have learned through personnel experiences with others? Do you share your wisdomwith others in a way that encourages and doesn't belittle? There is always something more we can learn and something more we can pass on to others.
Let me start with a lesson I had to learn the hard way; As a child I had to learn the hard way why my Granny told me not to run with scissors in my hands. It took 6 stitches and a scar that is still visible in my eyebrow for me to learn that you shouldn't run with scissors, but I have passed on my wisdom in this matter to my children. I do not just tell them not to do it, I show them the scar, that gets there attention.
I believe that wisdom is gained in learning from your mistakes in life, and not repeating those mistakes. Everyone needs a second chance just don't blow it by making the same mistakes. Learn from the mistakes of your past, forgive yourself and move on. Then use those life lessons to pass on your wisdom to the next generation.
