Like many of you, I am a transplant.  I moved to Northeast Tennessee in 1995 and have made it my home.  I have raised my daughter here and bought three homes over the years.  My daughter knows no other region to call home. So, when people ask me where home is, I tell them Northeast Tennessee.
So what about when people ask me where I'm from?  That is a completely different question.  I'm from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I'm actually driving there today, today, I'm driving home.  Today, that is where my heart is.  So, hence the title, my home is where … (6 comments)

My daughter is modeling clothes and I am excited watching the excitement in her eyes.  Santa brought her the hanging basket she wanted, and the leather boots.  mama got her wind chimes she had been dreaming about for months.  It was a wonderful morning.  believe it or not, the dogs were up and running around earlier than we were!  They also knew today was a special day.  With that said, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years to you!

Christmas tree lights - 12/24/11 12:01 PM
I just heard a really interesting story about lighting of the Christmas Tree.  It dates back to the 1600's and, of course, they were lit with candles.  Due to the extreme danger of having a lit Christmas Tree in your house (by candles) it was only allowed to be lit for one hour on Christmas Eve.  The other interesting tidbit is that one person was assigned to light the tree.  I love this!  Merry Christmas!

 Northeast Tennessee is known for their Mountain views. Mountain views are fabulous, but with mountain views, usually comes hills, steep driveways and graveled back roads. You will also have property looking over 360 degree views of beauty and serenity all around. December Challenge:it's Week 3 Post 2 - 12/20/11 07:32 AM
I cannot believe we are less then a week from Christmas.  That went fast.  Seems like just yesterday I was doing post 1 of week 1.  I have really been pushed with this challenge and got quite a bit done.  More than what I've recorded.  Today I am going through my leads for the past 6 months that have not done anything.  I will call everyone of them and update their status.  Who knows, maybe a couple of them are ready to make the move.

December Challenge: Week 2 Post 5 - 12/15/11 10:53 AM
Today I am working at Keller Williams (I'm REMAX) wrapping presents for Breast Cancer.  I am working with the team leader and we have advertised this day for weeks.  We are working together for a mutual cause.  I am working towards building relationships with Realtors from other companies.  This is definitely part of growing my business.  Plus, a great cause!

Fannie Mae, VA, FHA...get on the same page please. - 12/15/11 10:49 AM
Are you kidding me?  I have a VA contract that is also a Fannie Mae property. I have had to change the wording three times to make everyone happy.  The agent wrote it up as," Seller to pay up to 6% in closing costs and pre paids" . Fannie Mae came back and say's it must read as follows, "Seller to pay up to $9000.00 in buyers pre paids, title and closing costs".  We are two days away from closing and VA comes back and say's it must read, " Seller to pay up to 6% towards closing costs , pre-paids … (2 comments)

Science Hill High School Wind Ensemble - 12/14/11 09:34 PM
What a special night the residents of Johnson City Tennessee were treated to last night. Science Hill High School presented its cream of the crop concert band.  The Wind Ensemble.   We had two evenings of band concerts, highlighting the 8th grade band, 9th grade band, Symphonic band, jazz band, drum line and the grand finale featuring the Wind Ensemble.  Science Hill High School Johnson City Tennessee.

Pay it forward: Beading for a cause - 12/07/11 07:04 AM
Tonight we had a fund raiser for Susan G Komen foundation.  We had thousands of beads donated, along with instruction from Gail Oliver, RE/MAX Checkmate. Gail is the prior owner of ARTOPIA, a very popular art store in Johnson City Tennessee.  Gail sold her business several years back, but kept her beads.  This is the second time Gail has teamed up with SELLabrate Real Estate Team to offer her time and beads to the great cause to help find a cure to breast cancer. It was a great afternoon of fun and fundraising!

Rock Creek Falls Hiking Northeast Tennessee - 12/05/11 11:36 AM
Hiking in Northeast Tennessee is always a delight.  We have some really great Mountains and trails.  I've highlighted several hiking area in Northeast Tennessee last winter, it is my favorite time to hike!  You can subscribe and visit all my videos at my You Tube account. Rock Creek Falls is in Erwin Tennessee and has several hiking trails.  The one we hiked yesterday was Rock Creek Falls.  I hope you enjoy it.

Saturday football was great! - 12/04/11 10:00 AM
What a way to end the season!  There were some really terrific games going on yesterday, including some pretty wild upsets.  My favorite game was the Michigan State vs Wisconsin game.  I was pulling for State, only because they are in the same division as Michigan and I wanted the "Legends" to beat the "Leaders" in this inaugural game.
What a game!  It came down to the last 2 minutes.  Wisconsin came out on top and won 42-39.  I will now root on Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl against Oregon.  (Once again, must support Big 10- Michigan).

Christmas Season, Johnson City Tennessee - 12/03/11 08:35 AM
So much hustle and bustle go on during these few short weeks.  It's hard to do everything, but the season is one that brings out the best in people.  Last night was the Christmas Parade in Johnson City Tennessee and it was really a delight.  RE/MAX Checkmate entered a float in the parade this year and it was a very fun project with a great end result.  Christmas Cheer.  Please enjoy the video. RE/MAX Checkmate Johnson City Tennessee.  "Home Sweet Home".

The Johnson City Tennessee Christmas Parade was a success - 12/02/11 09:42 PM
Johnson City Tennessee Christmas Parade was tonight downtown Johnson City.  As always, Science Hill Marching Band was there to kick off the festive music, garbed in santa hats, they looked great! Our city loves Science Hill Marching Band, they are a staple to everything Johnson City!  RE/MAX Checkmate also made an appearence in the parade this year.  "Home Sweet Home" was our theme and the float was really great. The weather was decent, definetly a chill in the air, but altogether a fabulous night in Johnson City Tennessee.
