The Great Race downtown Johnson City TN This past weekend a group of friends and Realtors from RE/MAX Checkmate put on the second annual Great Race in downtown Johnson City. The Great Race is a spin-off on the Amazing Race that we are all familiar with on TV. It is a race around the world on the Amazing Race, but in our little corner of the world, it was a race around downtown Johnson City solving puzzles and doing fun tasks. 25 years and counting, a great record for staying with a great company. I read this morning about a loan mortgage company and it's employees who stuck with them. The depth of their loyalty and commitment towards striving not only for themselves but also the company they worked for. I love that. It's so easy to jump around these days. I find agents changing companies at a drop of a hat. Yesterday kicked off the season for the holiday parades in the Tri-Cities. Kingsport Tennessee opened the celebratory season at 3:15pm in downtown Kingsport with the Kingsport Christmas Parade. RE/MAX Checkmate participates in the Christmas parades each year and this year the theme was the RE/MAX Express. The train was decorated with wreaths, garland and happy children. Yesterday was the big day for Santa to make his debut in Johnson City. We had the local high school bands, ROTC, local merchants, City departments and everyone in between, celebrating and participating in our annual parade. RE/MAX Checkmate, Johnson City TN had it's annual parade in it as well. This years theme was" Sold on a cure" and it was a huge success. Pink breast cancer bands were passed out, along with candy, and they were more popular than the candy!! Kids and adults as well were shouting out for bracelets. So much hustle and bustle go on during these few short weeks. It's hard to do everything, but the season is one that brings out the best in people. Last night was the Christmas Parade in Johnson City Tennessee and it was really a delight.
