What looks and feels like "The View" but isn't? - 05/31/11 08:36 PM
I did the video challenge a few months ago and the first thing I learned...hire it out!  lol  I have contracted with a friend of mine to produce some video's for us; the first one was on the relocation to Indianapolis process and this one is for First Time Home Buyers; love to hear your thoughts!  It is 3 minutes long...

Just as an fyi...this video will probably show up in my outside blog so you'll get to see it again...lol

Taps - 05/30/11 04:50 PM
As I read many Memorial Day posts today; nothing has moved me more than watching 300,000 people become silent as Taps was played at the beginning of the Indianapolis 500.  It is about honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrafice for us.  (The picture is hyperlinked for you to hear Taps)

Zoom Zoom - 05/29/11 07:21 AM
I'm heading up to Mishawaka to hang out with my mom and of course...so I can watch the Race.  It is blacked out here in Indy.  I love seeing it live and in person...but the traffic, huge crowds and heat keep me away these days.
Trivia Time...I'll post the question, then a picture, then the answers...see how you do?
What is the number of the most cars still racing as the race finishes? What is the fewest? Who has had the most career starts? What was the closest race and who were the racers? What rookie won in 2001?  Dario drinking the … (13 comments)

You can WOW my Buyer; buy you can't WOW me - 05/27/11 07:28 AM
I applaud sellers who create a home that shines and is move in ready.  You almost “caught” my buyer today!
I sold my clients home this week and now the hunt is on to find them a replacement home.  Out of the 11 we saw today; five looked great!   Clean (including the oven which is my barometer of clean), staged to looks its best and priced to sell.  We picked three to see again.
As my buyer oohed and ahhed (sp)….I was considering functionality and resale.  House #1 is in a neighborhood that is starting to decline with outside maintenance being … (20 comments)

Pay It Forward - SPCA - 05/22/11 07:30 PM
I thought maybe I could have an original pay it forward; where I actually gave of my time or at least met the individual I wanted to help.  But, I have been taken with a story I read on May 16th…it’s been on my screen task bar for days now.
Earlier today when I was going through to make my comments…I ran across John Novak who hit 1,000,000 points (go over and congratulate him….I’ll wait!)  In his post are pictures of his Sheltie.

I have concluded that proofreading is officially obsolete. In fact, reading itself may have gone the way of the corset. Word is out that I am prowling about trying to catch MLS offenders, but they fear me not. In fact, they are becoming fragrant. Uh, I mean flagrant.

The question is how much!
Let me give you some examples of renovation costs and returns in the Geist/Indianapolis area.  If you were to make a bedroom in the attic and spend $50,000 or so you could expect a … (5 comments)

Gold Star to Jerry Newman...San Antonio Texas - 05/15/11 06:42 PM

Could you put THAT house on THIS lot? - 05/15/11 06:36 AM
There are a couple of clichés we hear frequently in selling Real Estate.  But my all time favorite has to be “if we could just put THAT house on THIS lot!”
I was with some new buyers yesterday; first time home buyers at that.  We picked about 9 houses to see that morning.  I love watching them as we go into each home and by golly by the 8th house we had found the lot that house number 2 should be on to make everything perfect.
But, you see that’s the thing. Perfect is really really did I say really hard … (15 comments)

Pay It Forward - Giving Where You Live - 05/12/11 05:11 PM
Every year I volunteer to spend a day with my Keller Williams office "Giving Where We Live".  Mo Anderson is a key part of the Keller Williams organization and May 12th is her birthday.  To honor her dedication to helping others and her founding of our National KW Cares organization, every KW office in the country donates a day of service in her honor.  Kind of cool.
This year our local offices volunteered at the Third Phase Christian Center. It is a home in Noblesville, just north of Fishers that has 33 rooms and is on 10 acres of land.   Two of … (12 comments)

Homes Sold in Fishers - April 2011 - 05/11/11 07:35 AM

The Indianapolis 500; it's May in Indy - 05/09/11 07:08 PM
They say the Indianapolis 500 Race is the greatest spectacle in Racing…but did you know these fun facts?
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) covers 253 acres and if all the seats were laid end to end; they would cover nearly 100 miles.  The number of hot dogs sold would circle the 2.5 mile oval more than twice!  Do you think bratwurst would be more or less than that?
Coca-Cola sold over 16,000 gallons in 2009 which was actually less than what Miller Lite sold (no surprise there!).  Fries appear to be quite the big seller also, with over 10,000 pounds (the … (14 comments)

Mother's Day 2011 Dorothy Osza - 05/08/11 08:31 AM

So today I want to celebrate my mom so that when my grandkids (yet to be born) and their grandkids Google their history; there is a story about my mom, Dorothy Osza!

A day in my life...a good day - 05/07/11 03:50 PM
Bittersweet is the feeling I have today as my youngest graduates from college.   As long as you have one in college I think you can still say you are needed and maybe even young!  As they venture out into their own lives…they need you less (at least financially!)  You naturally become less busy which isn’t a bad thing but definitely different.  You don’t even realize how busy you are as a parent until they go away to college and ultimately graduate.
I have three daughters so drama has flown through our home from time to time.  The other two daughters are … (22 comments)

Carmel Indiana Homes for Sale - Where do I start? - 05/04/11 08:01 AM
There are 794 homes for sale in Carmel Indiana today; that would overwhelm the most organized of buyers! Where do you start?
I like to have a buyer's consultation meeting with my buyers.  I like to learn about why they are looking for a new home, what they would like in their new home and what pricing is comfortable for them.
I then match that with what I know about the market.  I can search in MIBOR for Carmel homes that are within a certain price point, in a certain part of Carmel (we have a map drawing feature on MIBOR), … (6 comments)

Pay It Forward - by looking Backwards - 05/01/11 04:52 PM
Moving the older generation into the now generation with iPads, iPods, Facebook, Smartphones, Twitter, etc can be challenging.  My mom, who is 83, is on Facebook and I consider that a miracle.
Combine that thought with this one:
I was the Star of Two Truths and a Lie a few weeks ago and revealed that I am planning the 109th annual Family Reunion on my mom’s side.  One would think that would be some sort of Guinness Book of World Records, but alas, not even close.
And marry those two thoughts and this is what you get:
Me moving 51 … (13 comments)
