This is very timely and also very sad.  It is important that we as real esate professionals make sure the consumer knows about these scams.  It is unfortunate there are preditors that will attempt to take advantage of people at the lowest point of their lives.  Please re-blog this post to everyone and place it on your social media pages too.

There are many new and existing Internet companies that are offering to cut REALTORS out of transactions to save you money.  BUNK..  The difference is that there are not only legal consequences to selling your home without proper documentation, representation, and disclosure, but there are the emotional complications of a real estate transaction.  Does a buyer really think that the world is full of honest sellers that will deal with them fairly?  Does a seller really think that everyone who they meet on the internet has good intentions? I noticed something interesting this morning when I posted to AR.  Several of my subscription agents have not posted since 2008.  Did they leave the business, did they stop because they thought it was not worth the time, or do they suffer from my newest favorite Real Estate Agent disease "BSOS" Bright Shiny Object Syndrome. Which is a topic for another blog. Agents are so easily distracted by "the next big thing in real estate" and they often chase the Bright Shiny Object instead of focusing on what works.

Just got a message from my State Senator touting the latest US Treasury backed California relief from foreclosure program that will be funded by the US Treasury for those who are unemployeed to "SAVE" their home from foreclosure....well maybe not.
