Spring has arrived in Onslow County North Carolina and a great way to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather is by attending  Free Noon Tunes on the waterfront in Jacksonville N C.
So plan to pack a lunch on Fridays and head over to the park to soak up some rays and good music.
This is a fun and entertaining program supported and funded by the North Carolina Arts Council and the National Endowment for Arts.

There is a wonderful farm located in Onslow County in the small rural town of Beulaville about 25 miles outside of Jacksonville,North Carolina.   If you have just relocated to Camp LeJeune Marine base you may not have heard about -- Mike's Farm.

One of the most stressful and difficult issues working parents deal with is child care.  It is expensive, transporting children after school can be a problem and finding satisfactory child care in the Jacksonville NC area is sometimes difficult especially for military  families relocating to Camp LeJeune Marine base unfamiliar with the area.Onslow County School system offers "Before School" and "After School Care" at selected locations throughout the county to assist working parents with child care before and after school.Before School Care is available at a cost of $7.50/week/child for parents who need to drop off their children before school opens.  The sites … (19 comments)

Pet owners in Onslow County and other coastal counties are sometimes very surprised and much distressed to learn that in the event of a hurricane and the need to evacuate, most evacuation shelters do not allow pets. This puts pet owners in a dilemma----stay and ride out a storm in a location that is apt to flood and be in harm's way or evacuate and leave the pet behind. What an awful decision to have to make---neither option is a good one. This tournament is open to all Junior Golfers 18 years of age and under who have not graduated from High School as of May 1, 2008.

onslow county north carolina: Mental Health Day at the Beach, Onslow County NC - 05/08/08 09:00 AM
Yesterday was a wonderful day here in the Hubert, Swansboro North Carolina area.  The sun was shining, not a cloud in the sky and it was gloriously warm!  
A friend and her little one had called the day before and asked if they could come for an overnight visit.  So when we awoke to this divine day, I made the decision to take a mental health day.  
There were many fun things we could have done and you can read about some of them here but for me, a beach girl, the decision was a no brainer!

I'm sure you heard or read in the news that FBI agents and Mexican authorities arrested Marine Cpl. Cesar Laurean last evening. He is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, whose burned remains were found in January in the backyard of his home near Camp Lejeune Marine Base in Jacksonville NC in Onslow County.

Yes, Mom it is almost time to register that little one for kindergarten. If your child will be five (5) years of age on or before October 16, 2008, he/she will be eligible to attend kindergarten beginning in June 2008.
Registration for the 2008-2009 school year is May 12 and 13, 2008. Contact the school in your current attendance area for operating hours. A listing of all Onslow County Schools.
Keep in mind state law requires parents to provide a Health Physical assessment of their child and a record of all required immunizations prior to beginning school.
