In seventh grade, the diocese of Rockville Centre tried a somewhat radical strategy, regrouping the 150 students in each grade at St. Ignatius according to their academic abilities. It would never fly in today's politically correct world where they would be sued for the psychological damage they did to those in the lowest track. Nevermind that it allowed everyone to work at their proper pace and challenged those at the top by creating greater competition.
