I had an experience this past week that I thought I wouldn't have in this market.  I was referred Mr. and Mrs. Buyer last weekend  and they proceeded to tell me about two agents who told them she would give them most if not all of their commissions!  One agent told them she would give them $13,000, and another said she would pay their closing costs.  I remember this happening a lot when the market was hot and clients were being taken away from other agents because of these promises.  However, here's some things to think about.

buyers closing costs: Sellers Are Paying Buyers' Closing Costs - 10/10/08 06:20 PM
I have often heard from agent that they are afraid to ask for their buyers' closing costs to be paid by the banks.  The agents believe that if they ask for closing costs, their clients' offer will never be reviewed, let alone accepted.  Let me tell you about my experience. 
Over the last year, all but one of my buyers had their closing costs paid by the seller.  One of my clients paid a small amount towards their closing costs.  In a recent deal I worked on, I represented the seller for a short sale property.  The negotiator started the deal … (2 comments)
