In an attempt to Reduce Emergency Response Time in Union County, residents may have to put up with a little aggravation. There will be more than 13,000 marker signs put in place throughout Blairsville and all of Union County. This means that your current address may change. “Boy, I am glad I didn’t spend the money for that new Address Sign Engraved with our Family name on it!” I am sure that this is going to inconvenience a lot of folks out there, but an aggravation that could even save their Mountain Home or even their own lives.

In a recent article written by Norman Cooper in our North Georgia News, he quoted Union County Commissioner Lamar Paris as saying this, "we have projected our 2009 expenses to be covered without a Property Tax Increase."
Based upon a public hearing that was held back in December of 2008 where Lamar Paris went over Union County's budget for 2009, he also stated "...we are thankful with the economic slow down that we will be able to maintain our 2008 budget."

The number of ACTIVE listings in the North Georgia Mountain Real Estate Market have actually seen a slight decrease in number over what the market saw in November. This is due to a small increase in the number of SOLD properties in December over the previous month.
