Quilting

I have a great passion for quilting and always look for people to share my pattern, blocks etc, with.To me sharing tips etc. is a great way to socialize and make new friends. I am a Real Esate Broker and work 24/7 but I always find the time to do a little quilting each night to unwind. I have met some nice people at the Quilt Show in Paducah last April and I even got two referrals thru this event. Mix fun, pleasure and work and you can reap the rewards.
Who Knew???????

1. To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka, the stuff dissolves adhesive.

2. To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a trigger-spray bottle with vaodka, spray the caulking, let set for 5 minutes and wash clean. The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew.

3.to clean eye-glasses, simply wipe the lenses with a solf cloth dampened with vodka, it cleans the glasses and kills the germs.

4. prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with voska and letting the safety razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving. The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

5. spray vodka on wine stains, scrub with a brush, then blot dry.

6. Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to clen the skin and tighten pores.

7. Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo, the alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hai and stimulates the growth of healty hair.

8.fill a sixteen-ounce trigger spray-bottle with vodka and spray bees or wasps to kill them.

9.Pour one-half cup of vodka and one-half cup of water into a Ziploc freezer bag and freeze for a slu shy, refreshing ice pack for aches, pain or black eyes.

10. fill a clean, used mayonaise jar with freshly packed lavender flowers fill the jar with voska, seal the lid tightly and set in the sun for three days, strain liquid thru coffee filter , then apply the mixture to aches and pain.

11.swish a shot of vodka over an aching tooth, allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain.

Vicks Vapo-Rub

Vicks Vapo Rub.. on bottom of feet then put socks on at bedtime. Try it !it Works

I wish I had known this when my family was young during winter colds and cough. I am going to try it myself. Share with young parents. Is'nt life strange. When we had a lecture on essential oils, they told us how the foot soles absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes you can tasteit. Some of us have used Vicks Vapo-Rub for years for everyting from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I never heard of this. And don't laugh, because it works 100% of the time although the scientists at the Canada Research Council, who discovered it, aren't sure why.

To stop night time coughing in a child(or adult, as we found out personally) put Vicks Vapo-Rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy , deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong presciption cough medicine. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings on the part of their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of perscription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like accupressure.

Just happen to tune in Am radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough mediines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was a surprise finding and found to be more effective than perscribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calmin g effect on sick children who then went to sleep soundly.Polly tried it on herself when she had a very deep and persistent cough a few weeks ago, and it worked. She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes and believe me this was a deep, incredibly annoying and uncontrollable cough. She slept cough-free for hours every night she used it. If you have granchildren, pass it on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed by the effect.

Just thought I might pass this on, you never know till you tried it

Safety first.

Put your car keys beside your bed at night. If you hear a noise outside your home or someone is trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until you turn it off or the car battery dies, This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator.

Next time you come home for the night and you start putting your keys away, think of this: It's a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it!!!!! It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the keyu fob chain. It works if you park your car in your driveway or gargage. If your car alarm goes off when somebody is trying to break in your house, odds are the burglars or rapist won't stick around....afetr a few seconds all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won't want that. Also remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in the parking lot. The alarm can work in the same way there.

This is something that should be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save your life or a sexual abuse crime.I am sen ding this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for an emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can't reach a phone.

Gifts

There are so many things you can do and people appreciate it- seller and buyers. When I list a house and the owners are getting close to transfer, all their stuff is packed up a few days ahead of time thru the moving company I always hire a lawn care man to cut the grass before or the day of leaving. No extra chores for the seller to worry about. On the buyers side I ask for the day when their furniture etc. will be delivered and I arrange for a meal to be brought to the new owners. I also give my buyers or sellers vouchers to be redeemed at their convenience for babysitting a night, invite them to company bar-be-que etc. etc.One more thing I always try to remember is Birthdays, Homebuying anniversaries. Yu might be surprised how willing people are to give you their birthday dates(not the year). I get so may e-mails from previous customer and clients thanking me for the notes etc. I snt. It sure has helped me alot with my referrals.

Vented or Ventless?????

News flash in Tennessee. I dont know if all States requires this or not. To us here in Tennessee its fairly new. If you list a house with a vented or ventless gas fireplace make it it is ventless that you need to have it certified by a qulified installer regarding equipped with ODS (oxygen detection system) It will be required at closing so why not be a step ahead and get it done.

password

Due to the ever rising crime rate and Real Estate Agents are being targeted , I make it a rule to let the receptionist know where I am going and please call me if they have not heard from me in an hour. We have a password for being okay or to call police. Our office knows what kind of cars we are driving.

scary is not the right word.

Very recently I showed a house. Mind you new contruction, no appt was nec. to show it. I used my lockbox key and just went in. Downstairs everything was as I expected - almost perfect. On the way up to the second floor

we entered the master bedroom. Lo and behold there was sheet spread out on the floor and candles all the way arounf it. The closet door was open and there we found men's clothes hanging. It was just very eeeeeeeery. Can you picture it , and have any of you ever run into anything like this? I sure would like to know. Needless to say we didn't stay just slammed the door shut and boogied.
