charlotte relocation: Charlotte Homes Dancing in the Rain with the Uninhibited - 11/15/09 08:30 PM
In Charlotte, they have everything...including old people...some even as old as me. Who knew ? So if you are over 50 and are still looking for the fountain of youth...Look no further. Call Charlotte, Viagraville with a twist. Charlotte has a youthful attitude. Race cars, Pro basketball, NFL Football, and urban skyscraper growth, allows Charlotte to shine with tall buildings and Mansions popping up everywhere. Let the recession go elsewhere. We don't need it here. Old Ponce de Leon in Florida was only a couple five hundred miles off. If only he had taken I-95 from Florida to I-26 and Jumped

charlotte relocation: Death and Real Estate - 09/08/09 08:12 PM
Nothing is as final as an estate sale. Family members usually have opinions that get vetted in the process. A word to the wise; be succinct, be brief, use a gentle hand, and be prepared for the unexpected. This can be unstable territory for the family, tensions can peak when it involves the sale of the family home. Pent-up rivalries boil to the surface during many of these sales. Family members are emotionally charged....prepare to tread softly. Not all estate sales are "Estates". Some are just homes that need a lot of work that have an inflated value placed by

charlotte relocation: Don't Fumble Your Potential Home Away ....Pay Attention to the Playbook From Your Coach - 08/15/09 08:06 PM
Four doors and several miles ago, my clients, in order tofind a more perfect deal, hesitated on a great deal. Wanting to wait for a moreperfect union within their minds, they waited three days to say: “We want to write an offer”. Calling the listing agent revealed what I had consistently told them: “If the house fills all your desires, and is within your budget, andyou really, really like it…place an offer on it. He or she, who hesitates, watches that perfectly great house sail away.” They shrieked when I told them the house was no longer available. They asked: “Why

charlotte relocation: A Summer of Limitless Deals - 08/14/09 05:54 PM
A Summer of Limitless Deals - a reflective look It was during that summer when home sales ruled; when the purpose of homes was to be sold. When houses fitted on brand new lots, sporting their shiny appliances and crammed with offers shuffled from agent to agent, were puffed in green lizard silence while straddling thick branches of national real estate chains. It was during that summer, which may have never been at all; but has become more real and profitable than the one at present, Happiness ruled. Big, Sleek, Imperial mansions were selling quickly to sun-parched buyers anxious with desire.

charlotte relocation: Heavy Lifting. Why People in Charlotte Need Agents to Get the Job Done. - 08/12/09 07:36 PM
When you watch a professional do their job, it looks pretty easy. Pilots, for example, fly planes with smooth take-offs and smooth landings that make flying uneventful. You start with instructions on how to prepare for a problematic ride. You are told to read the evacuation instructions, and you are told to buckle up for the ride. Your mind escapes to a point where problems will never happen. You want an uneventful trip…a smooth take-off and a smooth landing. The pilot soothes your mind with his smooth delivery that things are just fine at 30,000 feet. Buying and selling

charlotte relocation: Goodnight Mrs. McGillicuty…Wherever You Are…Your House Had a Good Day Today - 08/03/09 06:34 PM
In fact it had a very good day. See, you listened to my advice and lowered your price. Guess what? You got a legitimate offer… after all this time. No, I’m not Superman; but I like to think I am a super agent, capable of getting through thick layers of steel you presented when discussing price. Thankfully you heard me when I said “price is the key factor buyers are focusing upon”. Could you have gotten [sic] more? Well, we did not get an offer that had more. This is your house. I’m just the vehicle to get it sold.

charlotte relocation: Picking A Fight With The Devil, - 08/01/09 06:16 PM
I get weary thinking of the deals that crashed because of the failure to adhere to a simple, but important aspect.. the details associated with most transactions. Trump called it the art of the deal. I’m no artist. I’m just highly aware that the devil is in the details. And I hate attempting an exorcism on a transaction that resulted from lack of attention by my counterparts. I am one of those odd ducks that reads every line of every contract in which my clients are involved. Our contracts here in North Carolina are fairly straight forward, but they do have

charlotte relocation: Watching The Nice House Sail Away - 06/23/09 10:39 AM
Sometimes buyers become disengaged in the home buying process and decide to wait. A flurry of initial activity filled with “I’m ready to buy”, turns into a pile of doubt that is almost inconsolable from the agent. Often this malaise leads to the one house they really liked, but hesitated on, going under contract to another buyer. Live and learn. Fear of loss is a motivating factor when hesitant buyers become reengaged. This stop and start process can also cause agents to experience a form of “whiplash” as well. Many times I have seen clients start as if they were
