grattitude: Yes They had Pecans....Tales of a Southern Thanksgiving Trip - 11/29/09 10:34 PM

I spent my Thanksgiving at my brother's place in a sleepy town north of Charleston, S.C. called McClellanville. It's about a 4 hour ride from my home in Charlotte (or should I say... 1 stop for BBQ and one for gas... Bessingers BBQ kicks my grits on Q )
When we arrived I was greeted by my brother's dogs. ..two happy Black labs that craved my attention with circular motions beckoning a pat on the head. The place was set in harmony.
The pecan trees were shedding their bi-annual harvest of bounty. The pecans were everywhere... all over the ground....the … (5 comments)
