events: What Happened to our "Chamber of Commerce" weather? - 03/08/10 12:23 PM
Here in the 'Valley of the Sun" where the winter brings mild temperatures and a multitude of outdoor events, we do not normally have much rain to spoil the fun! However, thus far in 2010 we have had a reported 4+ inches of rain at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport. You may say that that is not much inclement weather. Gosh, we don't have snow or freezing temps. But, that 4+ inches is more than double our average year to date 1.82 inches! In fact, we don't generally have 4 inches of rain until late July when we hit our monsoon season! (0 comments)
events: Hockey in the Desert - a fun evening for all - 03/05/10 08:05 PM
I must admit, that after growing up in California and moving to Arizona, I have not had much opportunity to understand the game of ice hockey. But, being an avid sports fan, when the opportunity arose for tickets to a Coyote game, I was 'game' for the night out. We left ealry to beat the rush hour traffic to drive from Scottsdale to Glendale for the 7pm game. We arrived in plenty of time to park at Jobing.com Arnna snd reveiw the many restaurant opportunities for a quick dinner before the game. We opted for the Yard House and were not disappointed. One could find almost anything from clothes for your dog to clothes for the family. There were some beautiful home decorations, a multitude of foods to purchase - fudge, roasted nuts, spice packages for dips, salsas, and fruits; gourmet coffees & teas, olive oils & specialty vinegars. After sampling the spice chai tea, we purchased 3 flavors to indulge in later. We also could not resist the Rosemary with Roasted Garlic oil (0 comments)
events: Are You Motivated?? - 02/06/10 11:27 AM
The Get Motivated Business Seminar presented at America West Arena on Feb 4, 2010 was both an entertaining and inspiring day! The advertised goals of the event were things like goal achievement, team building, communication, time management and increased productivity but I found motivational life changing nuggets of wisdom from these dynamic speakers. Speakers included ports icons Kurt Warner and Steve Nash, successful businessmen Steve Forbes and Zig Ziggler, Rudy Giuliani, General Colin Powell and Laura Bush. Now, how can you not learn something from such successful individuals?
This diverse cross section of powerful speakers shared their passion and internal (2 comments)

events: Sentimental Journey—a night in the 40’s - 03/22/09 05:02 PM
Dinner, dancing, a dance contest and a costume contest provided a pleasant evening of entertainment for all who participated. The Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force hosted “A night in the 40’s Big Band Dance” last night in the Arizona Wing Hanger Museum at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona. The open hanger and mild temps are perfect for the evening of fun. The B-17 Sentimental Journey among other WWII aircraft and memorabilia provided the backdrop for this nostalgic event.
