Much has been written about finding the right path in life.  Many of these books line my own bookshelves.  
My favorites are: "Think and Grow Rich," "Looking Out for Number One," "Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude" and "What Color is Your Parachute?"  Some of these books are old, their pages are now yellow but their meanings still hold true. 
The changing economy over the past few years has forced so many people to have to rethink their original strategies and test new directions.

Breaking News - The unflappable Daphne Fletcher has successfully sold her prized possession, the small town of Wauconda, Okanogan County, Washington. 
In a follow-up to a post that I wrote previously, the tiny town, complete with its own gas pump, restaurant, a convenience story and its own zip code has sold for the bargain price of $360,000. 
The small hamlet was originally purchased by Ms. Fletcher in 2007 for $180,810.  In its entirety, it is 4 acres wide and 12 miles away from the nearest town with any actual city streets.

In the heart of Southborough on 17 Common Street, you will find a building that is identified as "Southborough Town House."  This building is actually Southborough's official town hall. 
The Southborough Town Hall is open for business on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m; Tuesday from 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. and on Fridays the town hall is open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

26,000 runners headed out today for the 114th Boston Marathon from the starting line in front of the Hopkinton Common, Hopkinton Massachusetts. 
The contestants included New York City marathon winner, Meb Keflezighi and fellow Californian, Ryan Hall who had been hoping to the give the United States its first men's win since 1983.  The coveted first prize is in the amount of $150,000.

Speaker of the House, Robert A. DeLeo has put his stamp of approval on a bill that will, more than likely, result in the legalization of expanded gambling in Massachusetts.  This bill will be backing an idea that Governor Deval Patrick put forward in 2008 to license three resort-style casinos in the state.

As predicted, interest rates are starting to climb.  
Resulting from an improving economy and the end of the government's program to keep rates low, the interest rate on a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage was 5.21 percent. This was up from 5.08 percent just last week.  This is the highest it has been since the middle of August when it was at 5.29 percent.

On Earth Day, Saturday, April 24th   from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, The Department of Conservation and Recreation Watershed Rangers and staff will be organizing a cleanup event for the Sudbury Reservoir.  
The Sudbury Reservoir is extremely important to the Metrowest area.  The reservoir was originally constructed to provide a water supply by holding back the Sudbury River.  Today, only the Sudbury Reservoir and Foss (Framingham Reservoir) are classified as reserves for possible drinking water.
