Governor Patrick Signs Massachusetts Foreclosure Bill into Law
In a move to give extra protection to Massachusetts homeowners who may be facing problems, Governor Deval Patrick has signed into law a foreclosure assistance bill that was passed by the legislature last week.
Patrick Ceremoniously signed the bill in the city of Brockton, where distressed homeownership is a huge issue. According to the Massachusetts Housing Partnership, foreclosures in that city are up nearly 8 percent from last year.
Brockton's mayor, Linda Balzotti has said that and estimated 2,500 foreclosures have taken place there since the start of the economic downturn several years ago.

Massachusetts Homeowners May Get More Foreclosure Assistance
Until recently, Massachusetts has been spared some of the devastating numbers of distressed properties that have been plaguing much of the rest of the country. But now we may just be getting our share.
Through an article in the Boston Globe, The Warren Group has reported that the number of foreclosures in Massachusetts has skyrocketed with a 56.7 percent increase from last year with 7,431 homeowners losing their properties.
