Massachusetts Home Sales Up in April Homes sales and prices have seen an increase in Massachusetts this spring. According to the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) sales in April in the state experienced near-record increases in April compared to last year. According to a recent article in the Boston Globe, Massachusetts home sales are on the upswing. Home sales in Massachusetts saw an increase of 3 percent in 2009 which was the first such year-to-year increase since 2004. In December home sales rose 16.8 percent to 3,350 from 2,868 in the previous year. This increase in sales is welcomed news at a time when we are all looking for positive signs in the housing market. Home sales in Massachusetts experienced an upsurge in the month of November. They were up 60 percent compared to this same time last year. And, prices have also been showing some sign of stabilization. This increase was not only visible in single family home sales in Massachusetts but in condos as well. Condo sales had the significant upturn last month of 76 percent over last November.
