What is Active Rain?
I read a post this evening by Ed Silva about Active Rain, and it got me thinking about what Active Rain is to me.
It has been a Marketing University - I don't think I even knew the meaning of SEO before I joined AR.
It has been a referral source -I have had many referrals from other members of AR.
It has been a lead generator. I met with a buyer just this evening who contacted me via AR.

What is the Best Thing About Active Rain?
I've been active in the Rain for almost three years, and I've experienced many things while I've been here.
I've learned what SEO is and how to blog.
I've learned how to increase my business.
I've learned that I have a huge source for referral partners of people I know around the country.
I've met people I never would have known, and they have become very close friends, despite living hundreds or thousands of miles away, or even down the street.

Rain Camp in the Queen City Led by the Queen of Charlotte
I've been to a lot of Rain Camps, but I don't think I've ever enjoyed one more. I flew out to the Queen City to attend Rain Camp, and am I having a blast!
First of all, it's beautiful. I'm getting to enjoy fall and this lovely city.
We started last night with bowling at StrikeCity with a group of about 20 Rainers organized by the Queen of Charlotte real estate, Debe Maxwell.

I realized that I just hit 600,000 points here in the Rain and that led me to pondering the experiences that have brought me to this point.

I realized last night that I was making my 2,000th comment on Active Rain. It made me pause and think about what I've learned by making those 2,000 comments and what I've learned from my entire Active Rain experience.
I started reading the blogs and commenting to rack up points. (I know bad form, arguments for and against, etc.). The thing was that it didn't take me long to find out that there were much better reasons for reading the other blogs and commenting than just points.
