I was driving the other day from Pinellas County, heading over the Gandy Bridge and Tampa Bay to South Tampa when I was reminded of one of my favorite past times - paddling.
No I'm not talking about "paddling" as in spanking, though I must say I received a few of those in my youth. Paddling is what locals call "kayaking" around here in the Clearwater Florida area. Anyone putting a new roof on a Clearwater home or condo (association) may have to break open your piggy bank to pay for your new roof since new Florida House Bill 7057 goes into effect tomorrow.
The bill had great intentions and was designed to make Clearwater Florida homes safer and more secure in hurricanes. Clearwater Beach Florida ~ Private Boat Docks for BoatersSandpearl Condos and Resort received what some home owners are calling a sweet incentive to gets some boat docks built on city owned land in the inlet just east of the Sandpearl Condos.
Developer Mike Cheezem plans to build boat docks on city-owned submerged land in the inlet shown in this picture which is near the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center.
This would be for boaters buying condominiums at the Sandpearl Residences. The deal would allow the Sandpearl Resort to get 33 boat docks while they would build 21 more for Public use. (the numbers may be reduced to 27 and 15 respectively)

We see lots of tourists visit our beaches this time of year and many may not know that Clearwater Beach has a ban on alcohol of any kind. Being caught with any alcohol on Clearwater beach property can cost you a ticket of $113 even if you're over 21 - so my advise is "Don't get caught drinking on Clearwater Beach - leave the alcohol in your condo or at home.
While this may surprise you, it is part of Clearwater's on-going commitment to keeping our beaches family friendly and safe.
