A Search Engine Optimization contest was started by Net builders to see who could gain the number one spot on Google by "high noon" August 15^th.  I joined in as a learning experience since I have 3 websites I optimize for my Cyprus marketing company that sells property. When I saw the word we needed to optimize for "Sulumits Restambew" which is Webmaster Stimulus backwards I thought it was fantastic - it sounded like a perfect fictional Greek character I could write a story about.  In addition, I get to use Cyprus as my backdrop for the story gaining valuable key words about Cyprus. As my story gets longer I gain original content for my site and the contest, thereby increasing traffic on both fronts!

So for any real estate webmasters out there, getting a bit creative, investigating and participating in online social and professional forums DOES increase traffic. I have had a good increase in prospects after starting this contest and have learned a lot.  I even have a small chance of ending up in the top ten (I hope) - yesterday I was ranked at number 1 for the first time! I then dropped to number 37 but then went back up to number 2.  Google has its very secretive and unique way of ranking sites which is what everyone is trying to figure out!
