carlsbad new mexico: Chillin' on the Pecos river...Life is good. - 05/22/12 10:09 AM
Chillin' on the Pecos river...Life is good.
Last weekend we had a birthday party at the Park here in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
This was a birthday party for our granddaughter Haylee. She turned five big years old.
The park is located on the beautiful Pecos River.

Her "Repunsels cake" was made by her mother.
Haylee sure looks happy.
The next photo is one of Clint Jr. holding my Grandson Clint the Third.

They had to go down to the water...that was a given. They were watching a lot of watercrafts speeding up and down the river.

carlsbad new mexico: The fires are nearly out. - 06/15/11 10:57 PM
The fires that have plagued Eddy county in the past week are nearly extinguished.
This fire had reached up to 50,000 acres and we were lucky. The winds had shifted and blew the fire south west. Bad news was it blew it towards the National Park and Whites city. Both had to be evacuated for at least a day. Even the highway to El Paso Texas was closed for a day.
Many thanks to all the fire fighters that helped in putting out the fires. We now have a sigh of relief.
