Growing up, things always have a different perspective – the simplest example being that we are short and everyone looks very tall. I grew up in Otsego, Michigan, a small town of under 5000 people and about 160+ in my high school graduating class. While my home was not spectacular and I am sure I compared it to a few of the upper middle class kids I knew, it was cozy, my parents cared and our basic needs were met. 'The new Truth & Lending Guidelines taking effect July 30 have the potential of creating significant delays in getting a deal closed' is the message I have been getting from my lender. They are a company that I highly trust and respect and I often refer buyers. I know them to be extremely organized, no needless charges to my buyers and helpful even when I need assistance with someone who who isn't their client. When they have a concern, I listen. I often write about first time buyers and why they want to be represented by a “buyer’s agent” (all buyers really) and here is just another example. My office partner showed one of my listings to a buyer who found it on the Internet. He is new to the area and a first time buyer. Investors totally renovated my listing and are now selling. With two great events in Oakland County Michigan, I split my time between the Berkley Michigan Art Bash and the Royal Oak Clay Glass & Metal Show. There were around 65 artists at the 8th Annual Art Bash in downtown Berkley and my favorite part of the art fair were two budding artists at the “spin art” booth. This is the type of activity that always attracted me at similar fairs as a younger person and I probably would rather have been spinning that shooting video.
