Since late 2006, 128 major US lenders have either filed bankruptcy, closed their doors or merged with another bank. The sub-prime crises have left over 50,000 mortgage employees out of a job and this isn't over yet. Realtors are also exiting the industry. It has taking us a number of years to get into this mess and it will take a few more to get out of it. This is the time to work on business plans, get focused, do training but everyone also need to pay their house payments and monthly expenses so that they don't end up as a (4 comments)

When I was 4 years old, I still recall how I wasn't responding to the words no, don't and not. I was free and was willing to create anything. Then, as I was growing up my parents, brothers, family, community and society taught me the true meaning of those words and the expectations they had of me. How I should show up in the world. To-day, I'm 52 years old and for some time now, I have been working on reducing and eliminating those words as much as possible from my vocabulary. Let's first look at the difference between these two terms which are often used interchangeably. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary Online defines a manager as "a person who conducts business or household affairs" and a leader as "a person who has commanding authority or influence." Thus, management deals with the everyday chores associated with a job while leadership deals with people. According to Stephen Iscoe, "If given the choice, most people would rather follow a leader than be managed by a manager. To manage is to control and manipulate. Who is looking out for ways to save financially distressed homeowners from foreclosure these days? I just notice a lot of talk, meetings but no action between lenders, investors, housing experts and our government. Everyone is pointing a finger which is the usual first human reaction, no one wants to take responsibility. Cities with heavy minority populations are being hit the hardest especially in metropolitan areas such as Ohio, Michigan and Denver. If I was still a mortgage banker (which I'm not anymore), I would create solutions for families facing rising mortgage costs as their sub-prime loans reset to higher interest rates this (7 comments)
