westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Questions - 04/22/09 04:02 PM
By Coco Clayman-Cook I think asking questions is one of the smartest things a person can do. Questions and answers are what help us to grow and learn. I love when readers write in with questions. It doesn't matter if it is about Feng Shui, the economic stimulus package, LEED Certification or Condominium Amenities, they are all music to my ears. Please feel free to join the dialogue by asking a question in the comment section below and then stay tuned as I answer your question in a subsequent blog. Especially where real estate is concerned it is worthwhile to have

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Green Kitchens - 1 - 04/11/09 09:25 AM
By Coco Clayman=Cook One of the benefits of the worldwide interest in green construction is the wide variety of green products that are newly available. In the coming years we should continue to see an increase in colors and styles of green design elements. One of the rooms in the home that could most benefit from a greening is the kitchen. One huge element of Kitchen design is the cabinets. Most cabinets contain urea-formaldehyde which is not beneficial for the environment or your family's health. The market is just starting to offer alternative materials such as wheatboard. Solid wood is another

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Vertical Living Valentines - 02/18/09 06:11 PM
By Coco Clayman Cook This Valentine's Day lovers all over Los Angles will celebrate the day with candy, flowers, heart felt sentiments and stolen kisses. I always appreciate the LA Condo Lifestyle, but never more than on a holiday. My condo balcony is perfect for a small romantic dinner for two or even a firework viewing. The grounds surrounding my building are ideal for a quiet introspective walk, an intimate conversation ending in a stolen kiss or for enjoying a small Easter egg hunt. My favorite thing about living vertically during any holiday is my ability to lock and leave. On a

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Greening Your Thermostat - 02/18/09 01:59 PM
By Coco Clayman Cook One great way to help the environment is to adjust your thermostat. Here in Southern California it may not seem like a big deal, but it is. By lowering your thermostat 2 degrees during the cold wither months and raising it two degrees during the hot summer months you can make a substantial savings in power. We all like our comfort and no one is suggesting that you turn your air conditioning off in double digit weather. The idea is that even small differences can make a difference. The word of the day is simply to reduce. Two

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: The Holiday Senses - 12/23/08 09:52 AM
By Coco Clayman-Cook Do yourself a holiday favor this week and give your condo a scent make over that is geared toward the holidays that you celebrate. Your sense of smell is one of the most powerful tools that helps to inform our general sense of well being. Why not perform a little aromatherapy on your home? Stop by your favorite nursery or florist and inquire about their aromatic greenery and flowers. Or in a spray bottle you can mix essential oils with a cup of water, give your entry way a little spritz for lovely "scentual" experience. I love a

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Financial Feng Sui - 11/08/08 09:24 AM
By Coco Clayman-Cook We could all use a little financial boost right now so why not take this opportunity to perform a little financial Feng Shui on our living spaces. One important thing to remember is that Feng Shui seeks to bring wealth to your home; wealth brings a feeling of security and fulfillment, so ultimately what you are seeking to do is create an environment in which you feel secure and fulfilled. Locate the south eastern corner of your home. For accuracy you may want to use a compass, but often you can figure it out logically. Just remember that

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: The Fall Season in Los Angeles - 10/16/08 09:36 AM
By Coco Clayman Cook I love this time of year in Los Angeles. The temperatures are lovely and temperate and the sunsets from my luxury condo balcony are awe inspiring. The produce at the Beverly Hills Farmer's Market is tremendous and colorful. From the wide variety of succulent heirloom tomatoes to the rainbow of peppers, squashes and pumpkins the fare is splendid, fresh and first rate. Culturally, Los Angeles thrives in the fall. For live theatre Wicked remains at ThePantages Theatre through the first of the year and Spring Awakening is preparing to open at The Ahmanson Theatre. For Art lovers

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: The Morning Rush - 10/11/08 10:59 PM
by Coco Clayman-Cook Two professional women set out on busy days filled with business meetings and power lunches. The women are similar. They are both young, intelligent, successful and motivated. One lives in a luxury condo on Los Angeles' Westside, the other rents a small home in the San Fernando Valley. The Condo owner leaves her home at 7:30 in the morning and visits the roof top swimming pool in her building, she takes her morning swim and then enjoys sometime in the sauna before going back to her condo for a leisurely breakfast and luxurious shower before leaving for work.

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Investing in Today's Real Estate Market - 10/07/08 07:53 AM
By Coco Clayman-Cook These are interesting times in which we are living. As I look at how the market has changed in the last year I cannot help but note how the dynamic of the average luxury condominium has changed recently. Of course there are still young married couples, and young upwardly mobile executives buying luxury condominiums as well as retirees who want to downsize and smart savvy singles. But increasingly there are more and more companies purchasing luxury condominiums to be used as a corporate asset. When you think about it - it makes a great deal of sense. Luxury

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Fall in Los Angeles - 10/06/08 09:02 AM
by Coco Clayman-Cook It doesn't seem possible but fall is already upon us. I love this time of year. The students and faculty return full force to UCLA, my alma mater, and there is a special buzz in the air. I consider myself lucky to work and live in close proximity to this world class university. There is something about a college community that is unique and special. Any time you get a group of adults together in one space who are dedicated to higher thinking something special is bound to be in the air. UCLA is no exception, in fact

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Relocating to Luxury - 10/04/08 09:18 AM
By Coco Clayman-Cook Human Resources departments are often plagued with finding homes for new and incoming corporate heads and company figures. The last thing these HR resources need is to be troubled with potential leases containing ongoing clauses, real estate agents who insist on speaking directly to the client, or property management officers whose work often stops at the deed. This is where I can help! I welcome the opportunity to work with H R from any company to help take their new or incoming personnel out of the hotel and into a luxury condo in a quick, hassle-free, satisfying transaction.

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: When Downsizing isn't Just a Choice. - 09/16/08 05:51 PM
by Coco Clayman-Cook Judy had a great life. She was happy, independent and active. She owned her own home and ran a successful business. The future was bright and her life made sense. Then she got her diagnosis and in an instant everything changed. The doctors were optimistic but they didn't pull any punches, she was in for a long fight. Suddenly everything that had once made sense no longer fit. The beautiful home with five bedrooms which had once been a joy and a comfort was now too far away from the hospital and too much space to manage. She

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Investing in Luxury Appliances - 09/15/08 02:14 PM
by Coco Once you are settled into your luxury condo, it's time to really invest in your lifestyle. Look around you. Your walls are the perfect color; your furniture is all in harmony with its surroundings, and your floors . . . your floors need help. You've invested in high quality plush carpets and perfectly designed imported rugs, now you need to invest in their week-to-week maintenance. This is where your luxury appliances come into play; personally I am a fan of the Dyson floor cleaning system. The great thing about Dyson vacuums is they're designed for someone who wants impeccable

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: The L.A. Luxury Market - 07/27/08 04:24 PM
In these "interesting times" that we are living in, it is important to remember that value is value. Forbes.com published a report not too long ago about the most lucrative neighborhoods in the United States, neighborhoods that continue to grow in value despite the current turbulent market trends. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Los Angeles was featured in the report and that the Westside was singled out as one of the most lucrative neighborhoods in the country. Forbes particularly singled out the area just south of and including Wilshire Blvd between Ohio and Westgate Avenues. Forbes cited the homes

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: In Love with a Lifestyle - 07/27/08 04:19 PM
Whenever things get complicated or difficult I think it's a wonderful time to reflect on all of the people and things that we love in our lives and to be grateful. After my family and friends and my animals, the thing that I love most in my life is my lifestyle. When I think that there are people in Iowa who daydream their way through the month of February picturing a sunset on the beach, I am reminded of just how lucky I am. I don't take it for granted that I can see the sunset on the beach everyday if

westside los angeles luxury condominiums: Feng Shui for the Bathroom - 07/02/08 10:52 AM
I love the principles of Feng Shui and the amount of peace and harmony they can bring to any home. I am especially fond of quick Feng Shui fixes for the bathroom as they are so sensible and relevant in today's society. One of the basics in Feng Shui for the bathroom is keeping things clean. Certainly we are all striving for a clean bathroom, but Feng Shui asks us to pay strict attention to the fixtures, that they are clean and functioning properly. A leaking faucet is a huge no-no and should be repaired immediately. One overriding theme in Feng
