This weekend marked the re-opening of the Sunshine Mill in The Dalles, Oregon in its new incarnation as the Sunshine Mill and Artisan Plaza. 
The old Sunshine Mill towers over the Eastern gateway to The Dalles. Wheat was milled on the property for 130 years.  Originally a four story wooden structure powered by steam, the mill burned around the turn of the 20th century. A new mill was constructed on the site, this one over 125 feet tall and powered by the White River Dam in Tygh Valley.
