mckinney realtor: Collin County TX Real Estate Market Statistics - February 2011 | Re-Capping the 'Chilling' Facts - 03/17/11 04:25 PM
Collin County Real Estate - February 2011 - Market StatisticsFigures are out for how real estate in Collin County Texas fared for our C-O-L-D month of February 2011. Overall, the number of new listings and the number of sold homes (reported closed sales) were down over February 2010. New listings were down 23.6%. Were sellers too cold to put the home on the market this year? Or were their feet the only thing that was cold? Fear over another wave of Foreclosures anticipated to hit the market this year may have kept sellers from listing their home for fear

mckinney realtor: McKinney Spotlight On: McKinney TX Dentist, Dr. James Barnes DDS - 08/05/09 04:50 PM
McKinney Spotlight On Dentist, Dr. James Barnes, DDS I have a confession... I lived in McKinney for quite some time (won't confess to how long) before I finally sought out a local dentist. I'm guessing that like many of you reading this, a trip to the dentist does not rank too highly on the list of enjoyable ways to spend your time. I know few people who really love the sound of drills, smell of...well, I don't really know what that smell is, but you know what I'm talking about - floss, or flouride and latex gloves and sterile cleaning

mckinney realtor: Relocating to McKinney, TX 101 - What Will My New McKinney Home Be Like? - 07/29/09 03:29 PM
Relocating to McKinney, TX 101 - What will my new McKinney home be like? We've all heard that a large portion of fear, is fear of the UNKNOWN. When moving or relocating to a new city, there may be lots of fears and LOTS of unknowns! Especially if you have kids, like I do. BUT WHERE WILL MY TOYS GO? True story: When my husband and I were moving up from our McKinney townhouse in master-planned Stonebridge Ranch to a larger McKinney single-story detached home just a few miles away, my then 3 year old son was quite confused. He

mckinney realtor: Moving to a North Dallas Suburb - McKinney, TX has the "It" Factor - 07/25/09 10:53 PM
Moving to a North Dallas suburb can sometimes mean chosing between seemingly identical cities. They all have a Starbucks on every corner, several big chain restaurants, a Walmart (or three), a sprinking of unique dining options, great public and private schools across the board, impressive parks & rec and a broad range of real estate price ranges for every buyer. I love the 'burbs! But many times it comes down not to the tangible traits of each city, rather the unseen "feel" that a city exudes. The "It" Factor. I've seen it happen time and time again. A buyer will just

mckinney realtor: The Truth on Foreclosure "Steals and Deals" in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area - 07/07/09 04:30 PM
Foreclosures and Short Sales in the Dallas/Fort Worth and McKinney areas are no strange or foreign sighting. They're everywhere. Maybe there is one (or a few) on your street or neighborhood. If you're in the market for a new house then you might even be thinking about purchasing a foreclosure for yourself. After all, your brother's girlfriend's mom's sister who is friends with this guy who knows this girl got an AWESOME DEAL ON A FORECLOSURE! They got a $480,000 house for only $104,000! "There are great deals like this everywhere", you think. Think I'm kidding? If so, do this

mckinney realtor: The Agent DOES Make the Difference - My Case for the Independent Brokerage - 03/23/09 05:38 PM
Anyone up for a good debate? Let’s face it. The real estate market is different than it was 5 years ago. Even ten years ago. Certainly more different than it was twenty years ago. If you hang around a veteran agent long enough you will hear about how “back then” we didn’t have the fancy MLS or lockboxes or the internet. I know I certainly appreciate the conveniences of today. The fact is things have changed, yet the profession is resistant to change. Each of us is in charge of how we spend our days. We are all independent

mckinney realtor: Tucker Hill's Model Opening & Spring Market - Photo Update - 04/25/08 11:41 PM
Just in case you missed it, last weekend was Tucker Hill's Model Opening and Spring Market. I had it on my calendar for a few reasons: 1. This is the equivalent to attending the grand opening of the first Stonebridge Ranch models back in the late 80's. Stonebridge Ranch was a unique concept - well, still is actually - but Tucker Hill is raising the bar. I wanted to be able to say I WAS THERE from the beginning! 2. My husband had his own reason for wanting me there. He COULDN'T be there because he is a firefighter and was on shift

All I can say is WOW! The response we have recieved from our neighbors has been nothing but positive! Many have requested that we do this at the very least annually. In case you missed it, our team threw a neighborhood garage sale & open house tour this past Saturday, April 5. We live in the neighborhood and were very excited to serve our community. It all began early Saturday morning as Laura & I started putting out directional signs on Virginia Pkwy around 6 am. We could already see cars driving slowly around the neighborhood scoping out where the sales would

mckinney realtor: McKinney Home Sellers - Just WHAT do Buyers WANT??? Former Buyer's Agent TELLS ALL! - 03/18/08 11:55 PM
I strongly believe one of the best moves I made in my real estate career was to BEGIN as a Buyer's Agent for a successful team. I could write an entire post on this statement alone, but I say this to preface the rest of my post and to give credibility to what I am about to say. By being strictly a BUYER'S AGENT for over 2 years, I focused 100% of my energy on the wants and needs of today's buyer. After HUNDREDS of showings with first-time homebuyers, empty-nesters, investors, the young, the old and everyone in between I have a thorough knowledge
