colorado springs real estate and tips: Open House Checklist for Sellers in Colorado Springs - 09/08/08 08:06 PM
Open houses do not always sell homes but they do expose your home and let others know it is actively for sale. It is the job of your Colorado Springs Realtor to do get people to the open house but it is the sellers' job to get the house prepared for visitors. 1. Clean, clean, clean- Prospective buyers will notice dirty floors, bathrooms, and countertops so make sure you complete a deep cleaning beforehand. People do open closets and cabinets so de-clutter and organize all of your closets, kitchen cabinets, and cabinets under your bathroom sinks. 2. Don't forget about the exterior-

colorado springs real estate and tips: Release your creative side - 07/11/08 11:54 AM
Children are so creative and it seems like creativity diminishes as people get older. Why? I think adults get caught up in the busyness of life. Some people are afraid to release their creative side and consequently never try anything new. They fill their heads with thoughts like: "I am not creative"......"I am not an artist so I can't draw"......"I am not a good writer so I can't blog" I've noticed when my creativity is stifled I have been working too much and haven't made time for a mental break. colorado springs real estate and tips: Sellers, here is a tip on getting those shower pans clean! - 04/09/08 12:18 AM
I have walked into many homes in Colorado Springs and seen really dirty shower pans. Fiberglass shower pans are not only more difficult to clean than showers with tile floors but also make the dirt, grime, and other yucky stuff more apparent since they are white (well, supposed to be white). Here is a tip for getting your shower pan sparkling clean for showings and will make buyers say "wow, that is clean!" instead of "ugh, what is that stuff in the shower?" Go to your local Home Depot and purchase heavy duty, industrial strength scour pads. They are located in the

colorado springs real estate and tips: Factors to consider when selecting an agent to sell your home in Colorado Springs - 03/20/08 01:40 PM
There are many good real estate agents in Colorado Springs and if you are planning on selling your home, take the time to interview a handful of agents first. Some agents specialize in specific areas of the city and may know your area better. Has the agent lived in the area long or did he/she just move here? 2. Is the agent you are interviewing a Realtor®? Talking to or meeting with the buyers without the knowledge of your realtor- If you are speaking with the other party and no one else knows about it, promises can be made verbally that are not reflected in the written contract and this is a big no, no! The reason you hire a real estate agent is so they can communicate with the buyers' agent to ensure the transaction goes smoothly. Do not talk to the other realtor without your agent present either. Not disclosing material defects of the property- If you are aware that the roof leaks or about the

colorado springs real estate and tips: Go Green with Bamboo! - 03/04/08 03:11 PM
Bamboo flooring is one of the new trends in flooring and because bamboo is a more sustainable material opposed to other traditional wood flooring it is great for the environment. Bamboo can replenish quickly but trees take much longer to grow!! It looks different from hardwood floors and it is so beautiful!
