I've recently heard of a few real estate agents in town that are giving or loaning their buyers the funds to cover the earnest money for a home purchase. 
Have you fronted the earnest money for a buyer who didn't have adequate finances in their bank account to cover the deposit for a home? 
Situations occur where buyers may not get paid for another week or have an unexpected bill or repair that cleans out their checking account.  On the other hand, if a buyer cannot come up with the earnest money, can they afford the other costs associated with buying a home?  Is there a law … (10 comments)

There was an article in USAA's Spring issue where the writer offered tips for readers.  One of the tips listed was to "reconsider homeownership" due to the condition of the current real estate market. Although no one knows exactly what the future holds for home prices in 2011, there are still many good reasons to buy. I'm not saying every renter should go out and buy a home but it is a good time to purchase property for many who are considering it.

Many of us create goals for the upcoming New Year in hopes of becoming more successful, shedding pounds, or becoming more disciplined with our finances.  Goals can help us focus and work toward achievements but they are worthless if we don't apply them in any way.
You can read books, write down goals, or place yourself around positive and successful people but if you don't apply what you learn or read, you cannot make progress.  Sure, writing down your goals for next year may make you feel good inside, but what's the use if those goals sit in your desk drawer … (18 comments)
