A double rainbow must be good luck because this one appeared just before game time on Monday evening. It was the Parkdale Little League Majors first game of the season, which the team won, 8 - 3. Our son, Ben (11), plays 3rd base and catcher on the team. Way to go, guys!
Silent Saturday - Now THAT'S What I'm Talking About!
Spring mornings just don't get better than this! Well worth waiting for. I so needed a morning like today: Flawless blue skies, a shining mountain, the smell of fresh cut grass for the first time in five months, flip flops on the feet and dozens of Little Leaguers all pitching in to clean up their ball field in time for games to begin on Monday. Our son, Ben, plays on the Parkdale Little League Majors team, who was joined by the minors, coach pitch and t-ball teams to rake, sweep, (8 comments)
Parkdale, Oregon Little League Begins... Spring's Officially Here!
You couldn't really tell by the weather, as it snowed at that first practice on Wednesday, but spring must be here because Little League has begun. Friday's practice surprised us with beautiful blue skies and sun. Spring, indeed! Our 11 year old son, Ben, plays on the Parkdale, Oregon Little League Majors team, where he plays catcher and 2nd base. We also like to brag that as a "lefty" Ben is also a switch-hitter. We admit it. We're a baseball family. Ben has played since he was three and would love (1 comments)

Parkdale, Oregon Little League HIT-A-THON & Opening Day The Parkdale Little League Hit-A-Thon will be on April 9th and is the primary fundraiser for the league. The kids are busy signing up supporters to pledge a monetary amount for the number of feet they are able to hit the ball or to donate a flat amount. The Hit-A-Thon will start with Parkdale's T-Ball team, then the Coach Pitch team, moving on to Minors, then finally Majors. Also, don't forget: It's almost here... practices have begun and Opening Day for this year's baseball season will be April 16th. The celebration will start at 9:00 am (2 comments)
