Cruise The Gorge, Car Show In The Shade, 2011 If you love cars, any cars, old or new, exotic or plain, the Car Show In The Shade was the place to be today. Located at Sorosis Park in The Dalles, the show featured a huge variety of cars and I can't even begin to guess how many cars were there... acres of cars. Our sons liked the newer, American muscle cars, like Corvettes, Mustangs and Challengers. Sorosis Park, The Dalles, Oregon It was a hot day last summer that we were in The Dalles (30 minutes from home), running errands, making sales calls and touring neighborhoods. We had our boys with us (ages 9 and 11) and they were getting bored and restless, when Mel suddenly said he had happened upon a park the other day, not far from where we were. So we drove up the hill and before we knew it, Sorosis Park lay before us.
