columbia sc blog: Social Networking Tips to share and hope you reciprocate! For Newbies, Oldies and Wannabees! - 03/14/09 12:55 PM
It's raining in Columbia, SC, and most of the Southeast, as I write.  For a while, I've been trying to come up with some kind of plan for "Social Networking," and how to make it work in creating and doing actual business.  To be honest, its REALLY easy for me to sit down at the computer, open up facebook, for example, and two hours later realize that all I've accomplished is to spend valuable time chatting with an old high school buddy or to watch YouTube videos.  Now, that's all GREAT!  And I wouldn't be doing it if I didn't really enjoy it, but... what's … (14 comments)

columbia sc blog: Would someone explain the virtue of a "Member's Only" post? - 11/21/08 03:06 PM
? Still being sort of new here I have a lot of questions. Here's one I've been wrestling with for a while.
It may be a silly question, but why do a post that is "Member's Only?" Case In Point I was invited to participate in a "MeMe" (ActiveRain for something about me) this week, which I enjoyed doing. Here's My MeMe! I decided to just 'blog it out there' for God and everybody to see.
A MeMe seems to be an automatic classification to "Members Only" for the overwhelming majority of 'Rainers.' But why? Wouldn't that be a fantastic way … (67 comments)

columbia sc blog: "Social Networking" sites, which ones and why? - 11/03/08 12:06 PM
Two questions that have been on my mind since about last Thursday when I was invited to LinkedIn.  What are your favorite sites for social networking and better yet for "SOCIAL MARKETING"? I guess my 'smoking gun question' is what sites do you use and how do you use them?

I signed up with facebook and within a couple of hours was connected with two friends from back in grammar school, two college age children of a couple that are very good friends of ours, several alums from my alma mater living in our area (including a basketball player that was a star there), and of … (25 comments)

columbia sc blog: First Charlie Harden Columbia, SC Real Estate Blog Post - 07/17/08 02:42 PM
I honestly never thought I'd be doing anything called a ‘blog'.  In fact in my day if you did something called a blog you were probably going to be in big trouble or, at the least, very embarrassed.  I've learned a blog is a web log, get it?  Here's another unusual term, the ‘wiki' encyclopedia said a blog is "usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add … (30 comments)
